Hey, weary traveler, look up! Has your head been in your phone too much lately? Maybe you’re caught up in your job, and many other things bringing down? Stop what you’re doing for a moment and look up. Where does your help come from? Not the mountains, but from the Lord. But look at those mountains, look at those stars, and look at that sky. God made the universe and the mountains. Guess what? He made you! He loves you so much more than all of creation. Take just a moment to rest in that truth. Now, take a deep breath and give him all the mess. Call on him for help and praise him! .

Having a bad day? Praise him! Big problems got you down? Praise him! Trifling things have you down for the count? Praise him! Praise him for what you have, praise him for the suffering you don’t have, and praise him that he’s always with you! We forget what a powerful weapon praise is – go look up Jehoshaphat while you’re at it.

Humans are prone to fail. We fail each other. We need to have grace and mercy for one another. We love Jesus, but we’re not perfect like him. I have good news though– God will not fail us, ever. Listen, we all have rough patches in our lives, but that doesn’t mean that God has failed us – he is wanting us to grow character. Besides, life is not fair and we live in a broken world with problems. Jesus even said we would have trouble. More good news– even when you feel like you have failed, God‘s promises do not end for you. So, don’t place your hope in yourself or other humans, let your hope settle on the one who loves you eternally, unconditionally, and affectionately.

The scripture is not proof that God is a genie. For the Christian, it is a reminder that God is always moved by our faith in him. Thankfully, faith doesn’t require feelings. We just need to believe what his word says in spite of how we may feel at the moment. The first part says it is according to his power that is at work in us. Don’t worry, all it takes is faith that is the size of mustard seed – look it up it’s very tiny. So, whatever it is that you’re praying for that aligns with scripture, believe and don’t give up praying. God will make a way, even if you don’t see it yet.
