15 Years of Priesthood… 15 Years Walking with God
These have been 15 years filled with joy, experiences, different places, countries, parishes, friendships, and countless people who have touched my life in meaningful ways.
Throughout these 15 years, God has allowed me to walk through Spain, Italy, Chile, Guatemala, and the United States. Each country, each parish, each community, and every person I have encountered has left a special mark on my heart.
I have experienced different cultures, met wonderful people, learned from every community, and discovered that wherever God sends us, there is always something new to learn and someone new to love.
There have been beautiful moments, difficult moments, beginnings and goodbyes, moments of excitement and moments of tiredness. There have been times when I understood God's plan, and other times when I simply had to trust Him and keep walking.
But above all, these have been 15 years in which God has always been there.
He has been present in every joy and every difficulty, in every parish, every journey, every friendship, every celebration, and even in the moments when I felt tired or uncertain.
Looking back today, I can recognize something that perhaps I could not always see in the moment: God never stopped walking with me.
Spain, Italy, Chile, Guatemala, and the United States are not simply countries in my story. They are places where God allowed me to discover His presence, experience His love, and serve His people.
And together with those places are the faces of so many people—priests, religious sisters, families, children, young people, parishioners, coworkers, and friends. Some stayed for many years; others were part of only one chapter. But each one left something in my heart.
So, after 15 years, my heart can only say:
Thank You, Lord.
Thank You for calling me.
Thank You for trusting me.
Thank You for every place where You have sent me.
Thank You for every person You have placed along my journey.
Thank You for every experience that has helped me grow.
Thank You for the joys, and even for the difficulties.
Thank You for never leaving me alone.
Because after these 15 years, I understand that the true protagonist of this story has not been me, but You, Lord.
I have simply tried to respond, to walk, to serve, and to learn. You have been the One who has sustained every step.
“I have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore I continue to show you my tenderness.”
Jeremiah 31:3
Fifteen years later, I am still here, with a grateful heart, aware of my limitations, but deeply happy that one day I said my first “yes.”
And if I could begin again, with everything I have lived, everything I have learned, all the people I have met, and all the roads I have traveled, I would ask only one thing:
Lord, let me continue walking with You.
Because these have been 15 years of priesthood, but above all, they have been 15 years of grace, love, and the faithful presence of God.
Everything has been grace.
Everything has been because of You.
Everything has been with You.
