On May 11, members of the Cal-Pac South District Immigrant Ministries collaborative participated in a cross-border immersion experience in Tijuana led by Pastor Joel Hortiales, with logistical coordination by Susan Harriss and Jeanne Graham. The experience provided participants with an opportunity to witness firsthand the ministries serving refugees, asylum seekers, migrants, and deportees along the U.S./Mexico border.

First United Methodist Church of San Diego (FUMCSD) is thrilled to celebrate the hard work of Rev. Dr. Brittany Juliette Hanlin who recently was conferred with her Doctor of Ministry from Emory University’s Candler School of Theology.

During her time in the program, Rev. Dr. Hanlin leaned into her focus of racial justice, bringing together important findings regarding the impact of iconography in Christian spaces.

Make it a summer of learning! This July and August, leaders from the Western Jurisdiction of the UMC will offer a series of Continuing Education Courses for Lay, Clergy, and church leadership teams. Today at .umc, we dedicated and revealed three EV charging stations supporting six vehicles! These are the first charging stations offered for public use by a faith community in Compton, but we know Crossroads UMC is just LEADing the charge on this effort to bring access, opportunity, and justice to the area.
