Huge thank you to and their service team, “Rooted”, for showing up and serving with heart this weekend. From yard work and beautifying our space to reorganizing, deep cleaning, and assembling care packages for families, every act of service helped bring new life to our site.

Moments like this are a reminder that community care is built through people who are willing to show up, roll up their sleeves, and serve with love. This is the kind of work Dr. John Perkins championed for decades. His legacy lives on through moments like this, and we know he would be proud.

Today we honor the life and legacy of Dr. John M. Perkins, founder of Harambee Ministries.

He built more than an organization. He built a movement rooted in faith, justice, reconciliation, and the belief that communities can rebuild from within. Because of his obedience and courage, generations have been empowered to transform their neighborhoods.

Harambee exists because he believed reconciliation was possible, justice was necessary, and love in action could restore dignity.

We are walking in the fruit of his yes.
And we will continue the work.

Rest well, Dr. Perkins. Your legacy lives on.
