In Psalm 19, David alludes to the two revelations of God: The glory revealed to us through creation and the revelation of God and what He's done through His word. As the Psalm closes with a confession and prayer, we also recognize that the depth of our sin is far beyond what we realize. God's word testifies to us what God has done for us in Christ. The word also acts for us along with the Holy Spirit to repent, instruct, gladden and illuminate. Like David we echo the prayer found at the end of Psalm 19 humbly recognizing that we need God's protection and redirection each and every day

Americans have loved open spaces and the thrill of the new frontier where they could have their own home, their own piece of land in this world. In today's psalm, David writes how God, "brought me out into a broad place; he rescued me, because he delighted in me." This is a testimony to how the Lord had saved David, from his confinement and perils, but it is also a prophecy of how God would raise Jesus from the confined tomb, and it points us forward to the promise we have through Jesus of our eternal dwellings forever. There is much in this lengthy psalm of praise to the Lord for His presence and promises to David, as well as to us today. I hope that it blesses you, wherever you are, confined or hemmed in by various things and forces, knowing that Jesus has conquered sin, death, and the Devil so that you would be brought into God's family and given a home and an identity in Christ Jesus.
