Our mailing address is: First Christian Church Pasadena, 4808 Fairmont Pkwy. #284, Pasadena, Texas 77505. About First Christian Church
First Christian Church Pasadena was established in 1946. Our original facilities were located on a 2-acre site at Harris and Wafer Streets in North Pasadena. In March of 2003, with the Lord’s guidance, we moved into our new home at 4848 Preston Road. FCCP is a loc
ally autonomous congregation and has a firm relationship with our family of Disciples in the Coastal Plains Area, Southwest Region and the approximately 4,000 congregations of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in the United States and Canada. New members are received by confession of faith and baptism and by transfer of membership from other congregations. The church is governed by a General Board made up of Elders and the various Ministry Chairs. These men and women are elected by the congregation to serve for a period of not more than 3 years at a time. FCCP has a strong sense of ministry and caring, a congregational shepherding program by the Elders, a strong music and choir program, Christian Adult Fellowship, Christian Men’s Fellowship, Christian Women’s Fellowship and an energetic youth ministry. FCCP strives to help our community whenever we can. We invite you to visit our church and experience the warmth and fellowship of our people. About The Disciples of Christ
We are affiliated with the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), one of the largest Protestant denominations founded on American soil. Our church-related school is Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, Texas. Presidents Lyndon Johnson and Ronald Reagan were both raised in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). The only ordained minister ever elected President was James Garfield, a Disciples minister! We believe that each person has the freedom and responsibility to interpret scriptures. The church does not have the right to tell you what to believe or how to read your bible. We affirm the Great Confession that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the Living God, and our personal Savior. As a fellowship of faith, we affirm each individual’s inherent worth as a child of God. We emphasize the positive nature of the Gospel message as it relates to living life abundantly.
