What happens after you’ve been set free?

This Sunday we’re beginning a new series: Getting the Egypt Out of Us.

The story of Exodus isn’t just about escaping slavery. It’s about learning how to live as a free people—and how difficult it can be to leave old patterns behind and trust God with an unfamiliar future.

We’ll begin with Passover and explore how gathering around the Table can reshape how we see ourselves, our lives, and what’s possible.

Join us Sunday at 10:05 AM. - https://mailchi.mp/e85e1886b29c/20190310-17473256

A little unboxing from Rose City Church! 📦

We’re excited to share that Rose City Church is participating in the The Telos Group Mosaic Cohort, a two-year learning community for churches and leaders committed to the work of peacemaking.

Mosaic brings together churches and leaders from different communities to learn from peacemakers, theologians, and one another about navigating conflict, resisting polarization, pursuing justice, and practicing reconciliation.

This feels like a meaningful fit for Rose City Church because of how we understand what it means to follow Jesus.

For us, following Jesus isn’t simply about believing the right things. It’s about becoming the kind of people who love our neighbors, seek justice, make peace, care for one another, and participate in God’s ongoing work of healing and restoration.

And that work isn’t always simple. It asks us to listen well, stay curious, engage difficult questions, learn from people whose experiences are different from our own, and be willing to grow and change.

Over the next two years, Roxanne and Clare will be learning alongside other churches and leaders through the Mosaic Cohort. We’ll be exploring what it looks like for Christian communities to practice peacemaking in a world that often feels increasingly divided—and thinking about how that learning can shape the life of our Rose City community.

We’re grateful for the opportunity and looking forward to sharing the journey with you.

And yes, the journey apparently includes books, candles, stickers, a tote bag…and shoelaces.

This Sunday, August 30, Rose City Church is joining faith communities across the country for a National Day of Prayer for Disaster Relief Survivors. We’re praying for families still waiting for support after wildfires, tornadoes, and floods—and putting that prayer into action. Together, we’ll make ornaments with Operation Ornaments for disaster-impacted families across the U.S. Bring you creative self to church this Sunday at 10:05 AM to spread God's love! ✂️🎨 - https://mailchi.mp/63cd541196f2/20190310-17473075

We’re all unreliable narrators.

We miss things, misunderstand what’s happening, and sometimes believe things about ourselves or the world that simply aren’t true.

That’s one reason we need God’s voice—not only through Scripture, but through community and the Spirit—to help us see our stories more clearly.

This Sunday in Isaiah 51, we’ll hear God speak truth into trouble and disappointment.

Come join us Sunday at 10:05am. There’s Good News here. - https://mailchi.mp/77d41db68127/20190310-17472931
