It is with a heavy heart that we mourn the passing of Melissa Sue Brown, the founder of Safe Haven Outreach Mission.
Melissa's life was a testament to compassion, service, and unwavering dedication to helping those who were hurting, struggling, and in need of hope. Through Safe Haven, she created more than a ministry, she created a refuge where countless lives were touched, restored, and reminded that they mattered.
Written in the concrete in the driveway of Safe Haven is the scripture address Matthew 25:40
Which reads: “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me"
She took that piece of scripture to heart and her mission was to help those who were at their very rock bottoms. She set a standard of serving the less fortunate we can all learn from.
Her vision, faith, and willingness to serve others left an impact that cannot be measured. The seeds she planted in this community will continue to bear fruit for years to come through the lives she changed and the love she shared.
On behalf of all of us who carry the torch and whose lives have been touched by her kindness and leadership, we extend our deepest condolences, sympathies and heartfelt prayers to her family, friends, and everyone who loved her.
Melissa's earthwalk may be finished, but her legacy lives on in every life she helped, every heart she encouraged, and every person who found hope, safety and got back on their feet because she cared.
Melissa, you will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever honored. We are truly grateful for the hard work and reflection of Christ's love you've created in this world. Thank you for your service. Your impact will continue to ripple into our community. May you rest in peace beautiful soul. You've earned it.
