Every believer has a calling from God on their life and when we walk in His calling we find inner peace, sources of strength, and hope to keep pressing on. The problem for most is that we have no clue what God has called us to do, where He has called us to be, or how we are to even know His calling.. But give God praise that we not only can know His will but He’s already empowered us to accomplish it..

The Bible is very clear that God has an incredible plan & calling on the life of every believer. Unfortunately for many, they will never recognize their calling because they are too afraid of what or where God might lead them. So they aren’t at peace within because they aren’t fulfilling their God given purpose… Even for YOU today my friends God has a calling on your life..

For most of us we are carrying a lot of unneeded & unwanted stress, worry, and what many times feels like the weight of the world. We take medications, see therapists, & search far and wide to find resolutions for what is weighing us down from within never stopping to self examine or to just be real with ourselves because if we were we would soon recognize our real need to restore peace & to help us live with joy & purpose again is found in repentance. Recognizing our failures & confessing them to God then we find that it wasn’t something any doctor or anyone else could fix it’s sin from within our heart. I don’t know about you but I’m so past ready for a time of refreshment and reinvigoration through God’s Spirit & I’m praying it starts now…

Walking in the Spirit of God is not an easy task but it is a very rewarding one. When we are obedient to God’s leading & are trusting in His Word we find our source of strength, we are at peace with whatever life may be throwing our way, & with each step we are being transformed into who God planned for us to be. It’s not about being “churchy” or bragging that we are spiritual but about being close to God. Some may say it’s so hard to not be discouraged with all that’s going on in the world around us, but take heart that the God in Whom you trust has you in His Hands & He has everything under control. You may fail at times but by faith keep getting back up!

I think it’s safe to say that we all know the areas of our lives in which we “struggle”. Bad habits, toxic relationships, being in places we don’t belong, even in how we talk amongst friends & family. The question we must ask ourselves is “if I know there’s a problem why am I not doing something about it?”.
Convenience to what we already know & complacency with where we are are 2 of the key problems that we must face in order to walk in the will of God & see His purpose for our lives fulfilled & His blessings poured out. But what I’ve learned is that a lot of what we are taught in church can’t be applied to our lives because we don’t really know what a lot of it means & how to walk & live closer to God is amongst the top of the list of things we don’t understand.
So I want to encourage you all to join us at Hopewell tomorrow as we answer the question:
“How do I walk in the Spirit?”

For so many Christians today it feels like we have gotten so far away from God. Not because we have missed church, not because we haven’t read our devotionals, but because we have refused to deal with the sin in our lives. Confession & repentance is real & it is when we are real with our Father that our relationship with Him is restored.
Justification is by faith not by comparison. Worship is far more than a few feel good songs that make us lift our hands and close our eyes, instead worship is when & where our spirit & heart are in the presence of God so real it feels we could touch it. But for believers who compromise what they know to be true & turn a blind eye to the sin in their life are surrendering the Victory they already possess in Christ Jesus. For most we know exactly what it is in our life & we know exactly where to turn but the obedience is not easy so we continue down the paths of destruction

The Bible tells us a very clear point in Romans 6:23, that the wages of sin is death yet so many people believers & non believers alike seem to have become unusually comfortable with sin in their lives. Openly living in sin & walking contrary to God’s Word. Many become defensive when their sin is spoken against & they find themselves at a crossroads to either repent & flee from from sin or run away from God & His church to satisfy their own flesh.
Billions of dollars are spent every year in attempt to heal, cure, or reverse the effects of a sickness. Sin is slowly taking away our joy, our purpose, & our lives & it seems we would rather live how we want than to truly live in victory through Christ Jesus…

“Have we become comfortable with our killer?”

At times we are all guilty of becoming complacent & insensitive to the leadership of God’s Holy Spirit. Then other times we feel His tugging at our hearts to do something, to make changes, to go places, or whatever it is but it’s out of our comfort zones so we don’t move or do because we feel like we can’t.
The sad reality is that there are many people outside the faith who God is reaching & convicting while drawing themselves to Himself but their flesh, & the worries of this world have them crippled to respond to Christ’s call..
Perhaps the question that God has for me & you & the church as a whole is:
“What are you waiting on?”
