The Central Deanery Convocation gathered at Saint Stephen's Episcopal School's new STEAM Center last night as we prepare for the 58th Annual Convention. Hosted by Christ Church of Bradenton, representatives from the Manasota and Venice Deaneries enjoyed updates from Bishop Doug Scharf, DaySpring Camp & Conference Center, and the 2027 Budget presentation. Many of our Diocesan Youth Council members were in attendance as they prepare their first delegation to convention.

The pouring rain did not deter our Northern Deanery Convocation from gathering at St. John Divine Episcopal Church last night. It could have been the call of the barbecue chicken made by St. John's Scout Troop 606 or eager minds hungry for details regarding the 2027 budget, but no seat was left empty in the nave during the meeting. We are so grateful to the volunteers from St John's who welcomed delegates and clergy with a delicious meal and warm hospitality.

This is what One Witness looks like! Thank you to the youth and families at The Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd: Florida and Good Shepherd Day School for showing up, giving generously, and donating to St. David's Jubilee Center of Englewood Florida for the Convention Service Project.

There’s still time for your congregation to join in! Please deliver your food donations to your nearest Episcopal food pantry or food bank by September 15, and don’t forget to take photos and videos along the way. Send your photos and videos to Kate Johnson at [email protected] by September 18 so we can celebrate the ways our diocese is coming together to support our communities at Convention.
