Throughout the Bible, ordinary men and women accomplished extraordinary things because they made themselves available to God.
The boy with five loaves and two fish offered what little he had. Dorcas used her sewing skills to serve others. None of them had everything, but each was willing to be used.
We may think we don’t have enough time, ability or opportunity to make a difference. Yet God can do great things through a heart that is simply available.
Our greatest usefulness to God doesn’t begin when we have more. It begins when we offer Him what we have today.
“Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying: ‘Whom shall I send, And who will go for Us?’ Then I said, ‘Here am I! Send me.’” —Isaiah 6:8
Am I asking God to bless my plans, or am I making myself available to Him?
