Great first work day of the season down at the community garden thanks to some rad volunteers and Cawaco RC&D ! We built a new compost bin, refreshed all the raised beds, and got a few plants in the ground! There is still plenty to do so be sure to come join us on the third Saturday of every month! Also, we still have garden beds available for reservation and would love for you to come grow with us!

The 2026 growing season is fast approaching and garden beds are available!

The raised beds are available on a first come, first served basis by any community member, family, organization, or school group in Parrish, AL or its surrounding communities. If your application is accepted there is a $25 fully refundable deposit that covers the costs of keys needed to access the community tool box and water source. This deposit will be refunded in the Fall after the gardener returns their keys!

It is with great joy that we are finally able to share this wonderful short film about our farm project with our neighbors and the world!

"This is a story about the infrastructure of our lives and Jubilee House’s ambitious plan to transform an old football field into a garden for all. Working with AGU’s Thriving Earth Exchange, Capacity Collaborative, and scientists from Auburn University, the local community is looking to tackle a collapsed culvert head-on and turn this land into a crop growing powerhouse. The end game? Grow enough food to feed this corner of the world one person at a time. This project and video were funded through a generous grant from the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation."

We had over 60 people at our third annual Yam-boree harvest festival today where we harvested nearly 150lbs of sweet potatoes!!! All the kids got to take home their favorite potato after we gave our prizes for the best all around, longest, plumpest, strangest, and smallest potatoes!

The remainder of the potatoes will be set aside to cure and then will be distributed into the community for folks who need food!

Hey y'all! We got a young family facing eviction in our community.

They need $1,225.00 before Monday to ensure they aren't put out on the street. We have already secured $450 of this goal thanks to some generous donations!
