In honor of America’s 250th year, the 2026 National Eucharistic Pilgrimage carries the theme One Nation Under God. Many Catholics are walking in a Eucharistic Pilgrimage May 24 -July 5th, including one from our diocese, Mr. Marcel Ferrer (from Akron and a Franciscan University student). Join us in praying for him!

As part of the National Eucharistic Pilgrimage, the goal is to pledge 250,000 holy hours by July 4th, as we celebrate 250 years as one nation under God. Commit to your Holy Hour(s) for unity, healing and renewal for our country and please pray especially for Marcel and all those who attend the pilgrimage events. When we cannot lift our eyes to the Lord because we are ashamed of or disappointed in ourselves, we forget God's goodness. Sunday’s Second Reading (Romans 5:6-11) reminds us that Jesus died for us, sinners. No matter how often we fail, God continues to love us unconditionally. When we accept that love, our focus shifts from ourselves to God, giving us a fresh start. No matter how many times we need to start over, God’s love never wavers. Trust in the Lord.

Today the U.S. bishops will consecrate the United States of America to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, joined by parishes and faithful across the country. The act of consecration takes place as part of the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.

Bishop Edward Malesic has assigned Fr. Workman as pastor of Sacred Heart of Jesus in Wadsworth and Saints Peter and Paul in Doylestown, effective July 1st.

Fr. Workman will preside and preach at the 11:00 AM Mass on Sunday, June 28th. Afterward, we invite everyone to an ice cream social reception in the Bell Tower. Let’s gather to celebrate and thank Fr. Workman for his presence and ministry among us, and to send him on to his new assignment with our prayers and best wishes.

Where will you share a Little Jesus this summer? Carry him in your pocket, your glove box, your purse or backpack. Then when you are inspired - leave him somewhere or give him to someone! Pick up a packet after Masses this summer and participate between June 7 and September 12 by submitting a photo along with your name and a few words about where you took him or who you gave him to.
