The other day we were asked, "Why did God allow this tragedy to happen?" It's a legitimate question. If one doesn't believe in anything there would be no sense in asking WHY. Asking the question pre-supposes that there must be a purpose and an intelligence that was responsible. If you believe that the universe is just a chaotic random place, there is no rhyme or reason to it. But we DO ask why. That's because deep down we need to KNOW there has to be some purpose to our lives and justice for the wrongs we experience. That longing for purpose and justice comes from God. We believe that God is just and that He is love. But our faith is severely tested in the face of our pain and the unanswered question "why?" We only see a little speck of the big picture. Let's hold on tightly to the assurance that someday we'll get the answer to "why?"

"Amazing Grace" is one of the most famous and widely performed hymns in the world. It was written in 1779 and each year it is performed millions of times. Its message is one of redemption. But the Gospel of grace is offensive to many people. The idea that no one, not even the worst person you can think of, is beyond the reach of grace, is unthinkable. And the idea that no one is good enough to deserve forgiveness and grace from God goes against our human pride. But every person who has experienced God's amazing grace loudly proclaims, 'I once was lost, but now I'm found, was blind but now I see."

We are praising God for a great week at Creation Station VBS! We had a fantastic group of kids who were a joy to serve....

We are praising God for a great week at Creation Station VBS! We had a fantastic group of kids who were a joy to serve. Almost everyone in the church was involved & worked together as a well-oiled team. God is good and Jesus Christ is our life!

2. Do not hesitate to bring your baby or child to our
church, even if they will probably make noise.

These days it's not so simple for kids to answer the question, "Who am I?" There's so many voices that our kids hear. It's confusing. As parents and grandparents we want our kids to have a firm sense of who they are. At CREATION STATION Summer Bible Camp on August 3 - 7 at Parkman Baptist Church, kids ages 5 - 12 will explore what God says about their identity. They'll have fun while doing it! It's 6 - 8 P.M. each day and the kids will get a snack, play games, make a craft, sing, and see a drama.

When's the last time you did some star-gazing? It can sure leave you awe-struck! It can also leave you with big questions like 'How did it all get here? And 'Why am I here?' At Creation Station Summer Bible Camp, Aug 3-7, kids ages 5-12 will explore those questions AND have a blast! There will be games & crafts & yummy snacks, a fun drama, prizes, a robot, and water slide. We hope you can bring your kids each evening 6-8 p.m.
