Escape Student Ministries

Escape Student Ministries is a program of Escape Community Ministries—a nonprofit dedicated to promoting "unity among and personal growth in residents of the Mid-Ohio Valley through the facilitation of Community Service Initiatives, Life Skills Training and Spiritual Development Opportunities." We go to concerts, camps and conferences. We work with local schools and community groups. We team up wi

th missions agencies to provide support to local agencies that are doing good work in the Mid-Ohio Valley. We believe that teenagers share the privilege to “be the church” as much as any other Jesus follower and we want to see them tap into that privilege and run with it. Our goal is not to roll out a group of cookie cutter “church kids” and push them to do things the way they’ve always been done. Our goal is to connect our students to Jesus, to see them come into a personal relationship with Him, and to show them what it means to be His hands and feet in their families, schools, and neighborhoods. We want them to want to be part of the church, so we listen when they tell us what they like and what they don’t like about our program. We want them to want to listen to what God has to say to them through His Word, so we listen when they tell us what makes for an exciting message and what makes for a boring one. We know we don’t have it all figured out and we know that we’ll probably never get there, but we’re never going to stop trying. We’re never going to settle for “the way we’ve always done things” if the way we’ve always done things isn’t impacting the lives of the students in our community.
