Good evening LCBC family, if you’re looking for a way to get involved in our state, here is a way we can be hands on helping our folks.
If you cannot be there in person, the WV Baptist Convention has a way you can give.
Otherwise, if you’re able, let’s find a way to help.

URGENT ... VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!

Weston First Baptist Church sustained about four feet of water and needs assistance with clean up. Additionally, volunteers are needed to assist with parishioner’s homes and other locations in the community.

The church will provide a hub for disaster relief in the community for the foreseeable future, working out of an adjourning building to the church.

Volunteer Hours: 9 AM - 5 PM

Please plan your travel ahead due to some road and interstate closures. The WV 511 website can assist with current info. Currently, Rt 33 from the Spencer area is open.

- Rubber Boots
- Gloves
- Other items used for mucking out and clean up

Opportunities to Assist with Flood Relief

Yesterday, devastating flooding hit the central part of West Virginia, leaving many homes and communities underwater.

Several of our churches have already stepped up to volunteers as drop-off locations for supplies. The following churches will be accepting donations on weekdays between 9 AM and 2 PM (unless otherwise coordinated with the church):

Clarksburg Baptist Church

Fairmont Baptist Temple
Oakwood Baptist Church
Spencer First Baptist Church
Williamstown First Baptist Church

Volunteer opportunities are still being coordinated and will be communicated soon.

WAYS TO GIVE:

- Send a check to the West Virginia Baptist Convention, PO Box 1019, Parkersburg, WV 26102. Checks can be designed to WVBC Disaster Relief to support impacted churches and families, or designated to WV ABMen Disaster Relief to assist the men with cleanup efforts.

- Give online by visiting wvbc.org and selecting Give Online and the select “WV Flood Relief” or "ABMen Disaster Relief" from the drop-down on the right.

- Give through remittances to the WVBC under Miscellaneous Objectives by writing “WV AB Men Disaster Relief Response” or "WVBC Disaster Relief"
