We need another meeting. Is Friday The 26th good for all? We need to discuss where we stand with our budget. And new ideas.

04/21/2023

Alright folks. I forgot the women's trip was next weekend and some are heading down early. So since we're waiting on some info on the shelter project with havoc and the Spain trip next year. Let's reschedule for next month...say the 25th at 3:30? Unless someone has new business. Thoughts?

Planning on meeting at 3:30 this Thursday in our regular room.
Bring your ideas for a brief meeting.

Good Morning folks! I'd like to set up a short ( 30 minutes) meeting this thursday Feb.9th at 3:30 PM in our usual room. discussion around donating to the family crisis intervention center in Parkersburg. after talking to the director they requested hygiene items etc. we'll discuss items. we talked about allowing the youth to purchase and deliver items to this shelter with our funding.
also its been requested that we help fund ( any amount) for the Havoc youth who will be traveling to Tennessee. They each fund themselves 200.00 each and the Havoc ministry picks up the rest however you can imagine that the food and snack costs will be high! This is another opportunity for us to connect with our youth. Be in prayer about these 2 requests as well as any amount to give If we vote to fund these.
I know not everyone can make this meeting so if youd like to message me your thoughts that will be fine.

God Bless!

Good morning folks! I contacted the director of the family crisis intervention center. Who is grateful for the interest in helping. She specifically asked for paper products ie. Paper towels, toilet paper, trashbags etc. Also teen boys clothes. In addition she stated that at one time they had a church donate clothes baskets with hygiene products and blankets that the ladies could leave with. Please consider this for our next meeting as well as a prayerful gift amount. She also said that the youth could absolutely drop these off. Thanks guys!

Hi folks!
We have another opportunity to help with the CLP. I have attached a copy of their request for funds for training to assist with the young victims. Let me know your prayerful thoughts. Thanks@

The Children's Listening Place (CLP) Child Advocacy Center (CAC) is a non-profit that interviews and advocates for children and non-offending family members of physical and sexual abuse, and severe neglect, all at no cost. We also interview kids who are witnesses to major crimes. We then continue to provide services to that child, regarding therapy and advocacy, for as long as it is requested

CLP is the largest CAC in West Virginia regarding the number of counties officially served, and the busiest CAC in West Virginia seeing over 600 new children in each of the past two years.

CLP has no consistent source of funding. It is funded entirely

by grants, foundations, and public donations

CLP is only one of three CACs in the state that provides medical services. Without our pediatric Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner, a child would have to go at least one hour away to get a medical exam, being Bridgeport, Morgantown, or Charlestem.

CLP has organized an amazing training at Stonewall Resort on October 3-4, 2022. This conference was originally focused on our teams in the five counties we cover, being Wood, Wirt, Pleasants, Ritchie, and Calhoun However, because of its quality, it is now also being offered to CACs, prosecutors, law enforcement, CPS, therapists, teachers, and medical professionals statewide

The West Virginia Child Advocacy Network (WVCAN) has

praised this conference as being a state-level quality training

conference.

Regarding the financial challenge for CLP, nationally recognized speakers have bom booked for the conference as to maximize the quality of the event, providing our teams the best information that is out there. The cost of this venue, in the more accessible central part of the state, creates its own challenges.

CLP is seeking sponsorship for any portion of the training conference to help defray the cost. Any person or organization that becomes a sponsor for our conference will be recognized on all literature and at the venue itself during the conference
