Sometimes we assume that God owes us mercy, but by definition mercy is never owed—justice is owed. So not only does a God of love punish sin…He wouldn’t be a God of love if He didn’t.

The good news: anyone can have this for free. The Omni King paid the price for all so that we might be with Him forever, amen!

God is sovereign.

When you read that statement, what emotion does that evoke in you? If we’re honest, sometimes we argue God’s sovereignty because we don’t like the idea of God being that in control. Or it’s difficult to understand that He is in control when the world feels so broken.

This past Sunday we dove deep into the sovereignty of God in the story of Joseph found in Genesis chapters 37-50.

From being favored as a child, to being abandoned and sold into slavery by his brothers. To earning favor in Potiphar’s house, to being accused by Potiphar’s wife, then left for two years in prison, alone and forgotten.

Wasn’t Joseph supposed to be a leader? Weren’t his brothers going to bow down to him? Or were his dreams a wild mis-interpretation?

God did eventually fulfill His good and perfect plan through Joseph when he interpreted Pharaoh’s dream which lead to Joseph being second in power only to Pharaoh.

…but what a road it took to get there. It’s so easy to forget that sometimes the suffering we endure actually does lead to God’s perfect plan.

HE is sovereign—and His sovereignty is for our protection, and, if understood correctly, can be the pillow we rest our heads on in this broken world.

All things (yes, all things) work together for His good and perfect will, for His glory, and for our joy.

God is sovereign over all. Thanks so much for joining us today, RP as we continue our God Is series and talked about God’s sovereignty.

We gather every single Sunday at 9:00AM + 10:45AM

If you’ve experienced the brokenness of this world, you’ve probably then questioned the goodness of God.

Can God be good if there’s so much evil in the world? Pastor Rick took a deep dive into

The Creation
The Fall
The Redemption
And
What will one day be the new creation this past Sunday.

If you missed it, you can find all our past sermons with the link in our bio. Join us this Sunday as we explore the sovereignty of God and what that really means.

God doesn’t have love—He IS love, and we are commanded many times in scripture to love one another.

WE are not love…but His spirit lives in us. So when He commands us to love one another, He equips us to do so as well.

Is there anyone in your life you struggle to love right now? Our hope and encouragement would be that you would allow God’s spirit to work in you and pray for them every day.
