This past Sunday, our community gathered for an honest, heartfelt Congregational Conversation. We asked ourselves: What does it truly mean to be an Open and Affirming church, and where are each of us on this journey?

From navigating how our upbringing intersects with modern science, to looking at the 4 distinct ways we interpret sacred texts, we are committed to holding space for everyone. We believe in the freedom to respect one another’s diverse values and beliefs—always leading with grace.

A day of remembrance. A day of celebration.

Today at UCCPH, we celebrate the gift of motherhood in all its forms. We celebrate the joy of those mothering now, and we honor the memory of those who are no longer with us but whose love still guides our steps.

To everyone who has played a “mother” role in someone’s life: You are a blessing.

For this Wisdom Wednesday, we’re looking up at the beautiful quilt that graces our sanctuary. Though the gifted Holly Jay who passed away last year, her hands and heart are still very much with us.

It serves as a gentle reminder that the work we do and the love we pour into our community outlasts our time here. Her talent remains a permanent part of our sacred space.
