A tree is known by its fruit. 🌳
What kind of fruit is growing in your life right now? Is it the sweet, ripe fruit that comes from being deeply rooted in Jesus? Or is it the brown, squishy apple that nobody wants to taste?
Here's the truth: You can't fake good fruit. Just like you can't glue an orange onto an apple tree and call it an orange tree, you can't pretend to produce good fruit while your heart is disconnected from the source.
Jeremiah 17 tells us that blessed are those who trust in the Lord - they're like trees planted by water, with roots that go deep. They produce fruit in every season. But those who trust in themselves? They're like stunted shrubs in a desert with no hope for growth.
The hard truth: "The human heart is the most deceitful of all things and desperately wicked." Without Jesus revealing what's really inside us, we have no idea how far we'd go to get what we want.
But here's the incredible news - when we're truly connected to Jesus, abiding in Him, the fruit takes care of itself. We don't have to strain and force ourselves to "be good." We just become what we're connected to.
So stop copying the world. Stop being weak around your friends. Stop producing fruit that makes people look at your life and think "that's not very good."
Jesus is worthy of your better decisions. He's worthy of you living a righteous life. And if you could see even a glimpse of what God has planned for you, you'd never choose bad fruit again.
What's flowing from your heart today?
