This is not a political post but one that is asking for you to contact your state senators. There is a bill being proposed that would sell 3,000,000 public land acres to work towards the paying of US debt. There has to be a more efficient and productive way of paying debt. Land is finite and once it is sold it no longer belongs to the tax payers who have paid for it. Public land belongs in public hands. While the location of these sales currently may not impact you this could be the start of something that does. If you enjoy hiking, nature viewing, camping, fishing, hunting, or just letting nature lands be nature lands, please email your senators to oppose this bill. The selling of public lands hurts tax payers, local economies surrounding recreational public lands, and most importantly the future opportunities of the generations to come. Public land belongs to the public not some wealthy conglomerations. Please if you enjoy anything on public lands including parks - oppose this bill and email your senators. It takes two minutes.
