Day 5: The Ministry That's Just Beginning
Reading: Isaiah 46:3-4

Devotional:

God carries you from birth to old age. He does not abandon you when your strength fades or when circumstances suggest your usefulness has ended. The pastor received a word in his seventies: "Your ministry is just beginning." It seemed impossible, yet God was already orchestrating the next chapter. Perhaps you feel like your best days are behind you, like the two on the road to Emmaus who had "hoped" in past tense. But God specializes in resurrections—bringing life where death seemed final, hope where disappointment reigned, purpose where retirement beckoned. Psalm 92 promises that even in old age we can be green and fresh. God is not finished with you. Whatever season you are in, He has more for you. The question is not whether God can use you, but whether you will say yes to His unexpected invitations. What promise has God given you that still awaits fulfillment? Keep rejoicing. Keep believing. Your ministry may just be beginning.

Day 4: Everything Under His Feet
Reading: Ephesians 1:15-23

Devotional:

Christ has conquered sin, death, and Satan—and everything is under His feet. Paul reminds us that the church is His body, which means everything is also under our feet. Even if you feel like the "stinking feet" of the body, you are still positioned above every problem, every giant, every impossibility. This is not arrogance; it is understanding your position in Christ. The Israelites faced giants in the Promised Land, but they had Big Brother backing them up. You face giants too—sickness, financial pressure, relational breakdown, disappointment. But you do not face them alone or powerless. You are co-heirs with Christ, partners in His victory. Today, identify one giant in your life and declare out loud that it is under the feet of Jesus—and therefore under your feet too. Stand in your position as a victor, not a victim.

Day 3: The Inward Renewal
Reading: 2 Corinthians 4:16-18

Devotional:

Paul promises that though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day. This is not wishful thinking—it is a divine guarantee. Every encounter with Jesus changes us, transforms us, renews something within us that the world cannot touch. The disciples' countenance changed when they recognized Jesus in the breaking of bread. Their sadness transformed into joy, their hopelessness into mission. God promises you renewal today, regardless of how you feel physically, emotionally, or mentally. The question is: are you expecting it? Are you watching for divine encounters in ordinary moments? Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever. Your problems have not diminished Him. Approach today with watchful expectation, knowing that the God who said "Let there be light" in the darkness can illuminate your path right now.

Day 2: Rejoicing Despite Circumstances
Reading: Habakkuk 3:17-19

Devotional:

The prophet Habakkuk models a faith that refuses to be dictated by circumstances. Like Abraham who kept declaring "I am the father of many nations" when his tent was empty, we are called to rejoice in God's promises even when reality contradicts them. This is not denial—it is faith. The two disciples on the road to Emmaus lived as though Jesus were dead when He was actually alive and walking beside them. How often do we live as though our problems are bigger than our resurrected Savior? True faith doesn't ignore difficulties; it acknowledges them while choosing to trust God's character over current conditions. When you face disappointment today, will you allow your circumstances to write your story, or will you let God's promises define your reality? Practice declaring God's faithfulness even when you cannot see the evidence.

Day 1: The God Who Reaches Down
Reading: Psalm 8:1-9

Devotional:

David's question echoes through eternity: "What is man that You are mindful of him?" Like the pastor who wondered why God would call him from the mountains of Tennessee to Indiana, we too marvel at God's personal attention to our lives. The Creator of the universe knows your name, your struggles, your secret dreams. He doesn't just observe from a distance; He reaches down into your specific circumstances with purpose and intention. Today, reflect on the truth that you are not forgotten. God's mindfulness of you is not casual—it is intentional, loving, and transformative. He has plans for you that may surprise you, plans that require you to trust Him even when the path doesn't make sense. What areas of your life need you to trust that God is mindful of you today?

"Taming the Tongue - The Final Boss of Sanctification."

This powerful message takes us deep into Ezekiel 33, exploring the profound connection between our speech and our spiritual maturity. We discover that God literally controlled Ezekiel's tongue during his prophetic ministry—making him mute except when God opened his mouth to speak divine truth. This wasn't just a unique miracle for one prophet; it reveals something transformative for all of us. The message draws a stunning parallel to James 3, which tells us that anyone who can bridle their tongue is a perfect—meaning mature—person, able to control their whole body. Think about that: if we can learn to tame what comes out of our mouths, we can transform every other behavior in our lives. The sermon challenges us to stop wrestling with the same struggles year after year and instead go to the root issue—our speech. Are we speaking life or death? Are we blessing God and cursing our brothers and sisters? Are we Captain Correcto, always needing to have the last word? The beautiful truth is that if God could control Ezekiel's tongue for an entire prophetic ministry, He can certainly tame ours today. This isn't about religious performance; it's about allowing the Holy Spirit to bridle our tongues so that grace, truth, and the gospel flow from us naturally. When we finally surrender this area to God, we'll discover we have faith to believe Him for every other area where we've been stuck.

Devotional: From Arrogance to Humility

Day 5: Counter-Cultural Holiness
[based on sermon from the Evening Service on 4.18.26]

Reading: 1 Peter 1:13-16; Romans 12:1-2

Devotional: The rising generation faces unprecedented temptation, but God's standard hasn't changed: "Be holy, for I am holy." This isn't about perfection—it's about direction. Are you walking toward Jesus or away? The world celebrates self-promotion, self-protection, self-fulfillment. The kingdom celebrates death to self. You're called to be counter-cultural, to have no taste for what the world offers. This requires grit, resolve, and daily renewing of your mind. Don't hide behind introversion, fear, or "I'm just not bold." Those are code words for arrogance—unwillingness to be humbled for Jesus' sake. Present yourself as a living sacrifice. It's uncomfortable. It costs everything. But it's the only reasonable response to a God who gave everything for you.

Closing Prayer: Father, forgive us for calling arrogance "fear" and self-protection "wisdom." We humble ourselves before You today. Renew our minds. Fill us with Your Spirit. Give us Philip's obedience, Stephen's courage, and Jesus' humility. Make us living sacrifices who finish well. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Day 4: The Poison of Pride
[based on sermon from the Evening Service on 4.18.26]

Reading: Acts 8:9-24; James 4:6-10

Devotional: Simon believed. He was baptized. He followed Philip. Yet when confronted with true power, his arrogance surfaced: "Give me this authority." He wanted the Spirit's gifts without the Spirit's character. Peter's response was severe because the danger was deadly—Simon was "in the gall of bitterness and the bo***ge of iniquity." Pride masquerades as ambition, as wanting to be used by God. But kingdom ministry isn't about getting authority; it's about surrendering it. Where are you seeking position instead of submission? What "ministry" are you building that's really about you? God resists the proud but gives grace to the humble. Repent. Today. Now. Don't wait until pride destroys what God wants to birth.
