This is really good!
You Donāt Own Them ā Theyāre Not the One Yet! š³
Many believers fall into the trap of acting like a spouse before thereās a covenant. This creates jealousy, control, and soul ties that God never intended. Until thereās a covenant before God, you donāt own anyone and they donāt belong to you.
š 1. Ownership Comes Through Covenant, Not Connection
Marriage is a covenant, not just a connection. The āone fleshā union is for husband and wife, not boyfriend and girlfriend.
āļø 2. Possessiveness Is a Sign of Fear and Control
If youāre trying to control, check, or monitor someone before marriage, thatās not loveāitās fear. True love protects, honors, and trusts.
š 3. Dating Without Boundaries Creates Soul Ties
When you act married before you are, you create emotional and spiritual bonds that make it hard to let goāeven when itās not from God. Guard your heart until covenant.
š 4. Betrothal Was Covenant Preparation, Not Casual Dating
In biblical times, betrothal was a time of proving faithfulness before marriageānot ownership. They lived separately until the wedding day.
šļø 5. Modern āGirlfriend/Boyfriendā Labels Are Cultural, Not Biblical
Scripture never mentions ādating.ā Relationships were meant for discerning marriage, not emotional ownership. Stop giving spousal benefits to someone still under observation.
š« 6. Red Flags During the Waiting Process
If they flirt with others, lack spiritual consistency, or avoid accountabilityābelieve what you see. Donāt marry potential, marry fruit.
š” 7. Trust God With Your Desire for Marriage
The right one wonāt need to be controlledātheyāll choose you freely and be led by the same Spirit. When itās from the Lord, peace will rule your heart, not fear.
Donāt rush into covenant out of fear of losing someone who was never yours. When love is built on Christ, itās rooted in freedom, not control; in covenant, not possession.
