The video that inspired this message is posted in the comments. 🦅❤️
An eagle was stranded in the water. Its feathers were soaked, its body submerged, and no matter how powerful its wings were, it couldn’t take off.
Then a fishing boat came along.
The crew lowered the platform, giving the eagle something solid to climb onto. It rested there. It dried its wings. And when it was ready, it flew again.
I was so wrecked as the Holy Spirit began to download to me this:
Isn’t it just like God to send a boat to save an eagle?
Even the eagle, the one created to soar—sometimes needs to be rescued. And then suddenly this was not about eagles anymore.
Sometimes our wings get heavy too.
Sometimes we find ourselves in waters we cannot escape on our own. And God, in His mercy, sends exactly what we need at exactly the right time, a person, a provision, an open door, a place to rest, or something solid beneath our feet.
The boat wasn’t the eagle’s destination.
It was God’s provision until its wings were ready to fly again.
If God cares for the birds of the air, how much more does He care for you and I?
If you find yourself feeling like that eagle, just treading water, keep treading! Help is on the way!
You may feel submerged right now.
But that doesn’t mean you’ve forgotten how to fly.
God knows where you are.
He knows what you need.
And He knows how to send the boat.
If your wings feel soaked and too heavy to fly right now, I pray that God, in His providence, sends you a place to rest.
And while you wait, may He renew your strength.
Your wings will not stay heavy forever.
You will rise again.
You will mount up with wings like eagles.
“But those who wait on the LORD shall renew their strength;
They shall mount up with wings like eagles…”
