Yesterday, I took a reflective stroll through the cemetery, then waked on down the lane home, when I had an epiphany - I'd walked that path to catch the school bus an impressive 1,448 times, While the scenery may have been familiar, I never took time to appreciate it’s beauty. After all I did have a bus to catch. I fondly recall seeking refuge in the church house, waiting for the distinctive sound of Gene Molton hitting that one bump - our signal that the bus was approaching, and What better place to find safety and shelter than in God’s house symbol of hope and guidance I'm grateful for the time I spent living behind our little country church.

Decoration Day is forthcoming. May 24th has been set aside for decorating the graves of our loved ones. The cemetery will undergo maintenance and appear even more stunning with the addition of beautiful flowers placed with love. Let's come together to surround Marsha Jackson Brickles and her family with love, support, and prayers during this challenging time. Marsha's husband, Michael, passed away last night, and we're sending strength and comfort to Marsha, her children, and grandchildren as they navigate this difficult loss. Marsha's roots in the Mt. Salem community run deep, and her parents, Marshall and Ila Jackson, were shining examples of kindness and compassion. Let's uplift Marsha and her loved ones with prayers and positive energy.

The demolition of the old restrooms has been completed, and will be removed. Furthermore, another section of fence has been dismantled. We would like to extend our gratitude to our exceptional volunteers, Ken Ezell, Doyle Lee, Roger Hughey, and Ronnie Whitley, who have undertaken all labor. Their dedication is commendable, and if you encounter them, please express your appreciation. Donations can be made at Union Bank and are welcomed.
