2/1/2026 - Church Canceled Due to Icy Conditions

The church parking lot is still about 70% covered in ice.

The thaw / freeze cycle has only made it more slippery. Yesterday's warmer weather helped, but the melting left a lot of standing water, which is now a solid sheet of ice. In several places, the ice is now harder to see. That doesn't appear likely to change in time for service tomorrow, given the low temperatures forecasted today and tomorrow morning.

So, to move in wisdom and care for the particular needs of our congregation, we have decided that we will NOT gather for worship tomorrow, 2/1.

Icy parking lots are not friendly places for those who are already a little uneasy on their feet. We just don't want to risk any broken bones or other injuries...especially for our older folks.

Please say a prayer for Cassandra and me as we travel to Minneapolis this week for my pastors' conference.
