Daily Devotion – June 23

Scripture: “Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness.” Romans 4:3

Reflection:
In this passage, the apostle Paul the Apostle reminds believers that our relationship with God is based on faith, not on earning His approval through our own efforts. He points to Abraham, who was counted righteous because he trusted God's promise.

Many people carry the burden of trying to be “good enough.” We may think God will love us more if we perform better, serve more, or make fewer mistakes. Romans teaches a different truth: God's grace comes first. Faith is not about proving ourselves worthy; it is about trusting the One who is worthy.

When we place our confidence in God, we can stop striving for acceptance and start living from acceptance. Good works still matter, but they flow from faith rather than trying to earn God's favor.

Today, remember that God invites you to trust Him fully. His promises are stronger than your fears, failures, and uncertainties.

What would change in your attitude today if you truly believed God is working on your behalf, even when you cannot see the outcome?

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You that Your love and righteousness are gifts of grace. Help me trust You more deeply and rely on Your promises instead of my own efforts. Strengthen my faith and guide me to live in a way that reflects Your goodness today. Amen.

Challenge

Choose one area of your life where you have been relying mostly on your own strength—perhaps a relationship, a worry, a decision, or a goal. Spend five minutes in prayer, intentionally placing that situation into God's hands and trusting Him to lead the way.

Daily Devotion--June 22

Scripture: “Yet he did not waver through unbelief regarding the promise of God, but was strengthened in his faith and gave glory to God, being fully persuaded that God had power to do what he had promised.” Romans 4:20–21

Reflection:
Romans 4 highlights the faith of Abraham. God had promised him descendants as numerous as the stars, yet the promise seemed impossible. Abraham and Sarah were advanced in age, and years passed without the fulfillment of what God had said.

What made Abraham's faith remarkable was not that he never had questions or faced difficult circumstances. Rather, he chose to trust God's character more than his circumstances. He became “fully persuaded” that God was able to do what He promised.

Faith does not require having all the answers. It means placing confidence in the One who does. There are times when God's promises seem distant, when prayers appear unanswered, or when circumstances tempt us to doubt. In those moments, faith grows as we remember God's faithfulness in the past and trust His power in the present.

Whatever challenge you face today, God's ability has not diminished. The same God who kept His promises to Abraham remains faithful. While His timing may differ from our expectations, His character never changes.

What situation in your life requires you to trust God's promises more than your current circumstances?

Faith grows when we focus on God's character and power rather than the limitations of our circumstances. God is able to do what He has promised.

Prayer:
Father, thank You for Your faithfulness. When circumstances make it difficult to trust, strengthen my faith and help me remember Your promises. Give me confidence in Your power and wisdom, knowing that You always keep Your word. Help me glorify You through steadfast trust. Amen.

Challenge

1. Read Romans chapter 4.
2. Write down one promise of God from Scripture that encourages you.
3. Reflect on a time when God proved faithful in your life.
4. When worries arise today, replace them with a prayer of trust.
5. Share a testimony of God's faithfulness with someone else.

Daily Devotion-- June 21

Scripture: “Or do you show contempt for the riches of his kindness, forbearance and patience, not realizing that God's kindness is intended to lead you to repentance?” Romans 2:4

Reflection:
In Romans 2, Paul challenges those who were quick to judge others while overlooking their own need for God's grace. He points to a remarkable truth: God's kindness is not a sign of indifference toward sin. Rather, His kindness is an invitation to turn toward Him.

Many people think of repentance as being driven primarily by fear or guilt. While conviction of sin is important, Paul emphasizes that God's kindness plays a powerful role in drawing us back to Him. Every day that God extends patience, mercy, and grace is an opportunity for transformation.

Consider how often God has shown kindness in your own life—through forgiveness, provision, guidance, and second chances. His patience is evidence of His love. Instead of taking that kindness for granted, we are called to respond with gratitude and a willingness to grow.

As followers of Christ, we are also called to reflect God's kindness toward others. A gracious word, a forgiving spirit, or a compassionate act can become a powerful testimony of God's character.

How might your relationships change if you treated others with the same patience and kindness that God has shown you?

God's kindness is not weakness; it is a loving invitation to repentance, growth, and deeper fellowship with Him.

Prayer:
Father, thank You for Your kindness, patience, and mercy toward me. Help me never to take Your grace for granted. Show me areas of my life where I need to grow and give me a willing heart to follow You. Help me extend the same kindness to others that You have shown to me. Amen.

Challenge

2. Make a list of ways God has shown kindness to you this year.
3. Ask God to reveal one area where you need to grow spiritually.
4. Show intentional kindness to someone today, especially someone who may not expect it.

Daily Devotion-- June 20

Scripture: “For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile.” Romans 1:16

Reflection:
The book of Romans begins with Paul's bold declaration that he is not ashamed of the gospel. This was a courageous statement in a world where the message of a crucified Savior was often mocked, misunderstood, or rejected.

Paul understood that the gospel is more than good advice—it is good news. It is the message of what God has done through Jesus Christ to reconcile people to Himself. Human wisdom, achievements, and efforts cannot save us, but God's power can transform hearts and lives.

Many believers face moments when it is tempting to stay silent about their faith or to downplay their convictions. Yet Paul reminds us that the gospel carries God's power. Our responsibility is not to make the message more acceptable; it is to faithfully live it and share it with love and humility.

Today, consider the impact the gospel has had on your own life. The same power that brought salvation, forgiveness, and hope to you is available to others as well.

What would change in your daily life if you fully trusted that the gospel is God's power at work?

The gospel is not merely information about God—it is the powerful message through which God brings salvation, transformation, and hope to all who believe.
