🎁 What if one of the greatest gifts in your life is something you could never earn?

Today’s service focuses on “Undeserved - Acts of God.”

In 1 John 5, we are reminded that God Himself testifies about who Jesus is: the promised Savior, the Son of God, and the Christ. Our faith does not rest simply on human opinion or our own experiences - it rests on God’s testimony and His promises. ✝️

And those promises are not just words.

Through the sacraments, God continues to work in our lives. The Spirit, the water, and the blood bear witness to Christ and to His saving work. In baptism and Holy Communion, we receive gifts of grace that we could never earn or deserve.

That changes the way we look at faith.

We don't have to prove ourselves worthy before coming to Christ. We come because He has already acted for us. ❤️

And when we receive His grace, we are called to respond - by remaining faithful, by trusting His promises, and by letting our faith become visible in the way we live.

So what might that look like this week?

Maybe it's forgiveness.
Maybe it's choosing integrity when nobody is watching.
Maybe it's an unexpected act of love.
Maybe it's simply serving someone who needs it.

Nothing dramatic is required. Sometimes the most meaningful testimony to Jesus is found in the ordinary things we do with a faithful heart. 🙏

God gives us what we could never earn.

May we receive His grace with gratitude, keep our hope fixed on Christ, and testify to Him through the way we live. ❤️

🌸 One church. Many people. One Christ.

Jesus prayed something remarkable shortly before His suffering and death:

“I do not pray for these alone, but also for those who will believe in Me through their word; that they all may be one.” - John 17:20-21

And He wasn’t only praying for the disciples standing around Him.

He was praying for us.

Oneness in Christ doesn’t mean uniformity. We don’t all have the same personality, gifts, background, experiences, or way of seeing things. We are more like a colorful flower meadow - different flowers, different colors, different shapes - yet growing together in the same soil. 🌷🌻🌺

Our oneness begins much closer to home than “the Church.” It begins in the heart.

It grows in our families, in our relationships, in our congregations - and ultimately becomes a witness to the world of who Christ is. ❤️

So perhaps the question for today isn't simply, “Are we united?”

But rather:

🌱 What am I bringing into the oneness Jesus prayed for?

Am I bringing love?
Grace?
Patience?
Understanding?
A willingness to see Christ in someone who is different from me?

Because the oneness of the Church is both a gift from God - and something we are called to live.

May Christ draw us closer to Him today, and in doing so, closer to one another.

🤝 What if reconciliation isn’t just something we receive from God - but something we are called to carry into the world?

This Sunday, we look at another mark of the Church - its apostolicity - through the message and the messenger.

Paul writes in 2 Corinthians 5:20

“Now, then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us; we implore you on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God.”

At the heart of the apostolic message is something deeply personal: reconciliation with God. ❤️

We have been reconciled to God through Christ - yet our journey doesn’t end there. Because we continue to fall short, we continue to need repentance, grace, and the invitation to come back to God.

And there is no “do-it-yourself” path.

God gives us His Word, the sacraments, and His Church - and He also gives us one another. Through human messengers, His message of grace continues to be proclaimed:
Be reconciled to God.

But there’s another beautiful part to this message.
We don’t leave Holy Communion only forgiven - we leave as reconcilers. 🕊️

So what might that look like in our lives?

Where there is distance - can we take a step toward someone?
Where there is hurt - can we choose grace?
Where there is conflict - can we become peacemakers?
And where we ourselves have fallen short - can we stop trying to fix it all on our own and simply return to Christ?

The Church is not merely a building or a place we gather. It is us - believers who have received Christ’s grace and are called to make His love and gospel visible in the world.

Tomorrow, let’s reflect on the message… and on the messengers God uses to carry it. 🙏

💭 Forgiveness is one of the hardest prayers we can pray.

Not because God is unwilling to forgive...

But because sometimes we struggle to let go ourselves.

We all know what it feels like to be hurt, disappointed, betrayed, or misunderstood. Some wounds heal quickly. Others stay with us for years.

Yet Jesus places one remarkable sentence into the middle of the Lord's Prayer:

"Forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors."

It's almost as if He is saying:

"The grace you receive should become the grace you give."

Forgiveness doesn't erase the past.
It doesn't always remove the consequences.
But it breaks the chains that keep yesterday controlling today. 🕊️

Perhaps that's why our ability to forgive is such a good mirror of our own spiritual life. The more we understand how completely God has forgiven us, the more our hearts slowly become able to forgive others.

Maybe not all at once.
Maybe not without tears.
But one prayer...
One step...
One act of grace at a time. ❤️

🍞 What do we really need today?

We spend so much of our lives planning for tomorrow - saving, preparing, worrying, and wondering what lies ahead.

Yet in the Lord's Prayer, Jesus teaches us to pray for something beautifully simple:

"Give us this day our daily bread." (Matthew 6:11)

Not next week's bread. Not next year's security. Just today's.

This isn't because God doesn't care about our future. It's because He wants us to discover something greater than certainty - trust.

Just as God provided manna one day at a time for His people in the wilderness, He continues to provide what we truly need. Sometimes it's strength. Sometimes it's wisdom. Sometimes it's comfort, forgiveness, hope... and always, the true Bread of Life - Jesus Christ.

But notice something else: Jesus doesn't teach us to pray, "Give me my daily bread." He teaches us to pray, "Give us this day our daily bread."

Our prayer is never just about ourselves. As God provides for us, He also invites us to become part of His provision for others - a kind word, a helping hand, a shared meal, an encouraging message, or simply being present for someone in need.

As we gather for worship today, let's reflect:

What am I truly relying on for peace and satisfaction?
Am I trusting God for today?
And how might He use me to answer someone else's prayer this week?

🙏 May God strengthen our faith, provide what we truly need, and help us become a blessing to those around us.

👑 **"Your kingdom come."** (Matthew 6:10)

When we pray these words from the Lord's Prayer, what are we really asking for?

Many think immediately of Christ's return and the glorious future God has prepared for His children. And rightly so. We long for the day when all suffering, injustice, and evil will be no more.

But Jesus also taught that the kingdom of God is already at hand. Through His life, death, resurrection, and ascension, God's reign entered our world and continues to transform hearts today.

So we live in a beautiful tension: the "now" and the "not yet."

✨ The kingdom is present whenever Christ reigns in our hearts.
✨ The kingdom grows whenever love overcomes hatred.
✨ The kingdom becomes visible whenever peace replaces conflict.
✨ The kingdom is coming in its fullness when Christ returns.

As Christians, we are called not only to wait for God's kingdom but to live as citizens of that kingdom today - reflecting its values, breathing its atmosphere, and allowing Christ to shape our thoughts, words, and actions.

This week, perhaps we can ask ourselves:
💭 If someone observed my daily life, what evidence would they see that God's kingdom is already at work within me?

May our prayer, "Your kingdom come," be more than words. May it be our deepest desire and our daily reality.
