What a powerful reminder of what it means to give everything to God! 🌿

In a special sermon praising the youth of the Virgin Mary Church, Abouna Joseph Shammas reflects on the Gospel passage of "The Poor Widow". He shared how moved he was by our parish youth—highlighting their dedication during the vigil for the Virgin Mary, where they walked in faith, welcomed parishioners with open arms, handed out t-shirts and water, and bore proud witness to Christ.

Abouna Joseph emphasized that the widow's two pennies - as told in Mark 12:41‑44 - teach us how spiritual growth happens: not through grand, temporary displays, but through small, steady steps taken with pure intention.

Just like the poor widow, our youth are showing us that true offering is about pouring out our whole hearts for God and His Holy Church. Let us take a moment to thank God for the vibrant example set by our young people and keep them in our daily prayers as they continue to grow as faithful sons and daughters of Christ!

Shlomo! Today our Church celebrates one of our most sacred traditions—the Feast of the Assumption of the Mother of God.

As we honor her holy dormition and translation into heavenly glory, let us reflect on her perfect obedience, faith, and humility:

"Mary said, 'Behold, I am the handmaid of the Lord. May it be done to me according to your word.'" — Luke 1:38
