About the Speaker
Nityanand Charan Das is an esteemed spiritual counsellor, author, and convenor for ISKCON South Mumbai (Chowpatty), and a practicing monk for the past two decades. He is a disciple of the world-renowned spiritual leader, philanthropist, and best-selling author His Holiness Radhanath Swami.
He is the author of several national bestsellers, including A Monkโs Almanac, Icons of Grace, Ask the Monk, and Shiva. His most recent book, Gita for the Young & Urban, brings the timeless wisdom of the Bhagavad Gita to life in a simple and relatable way - making it especially meaningful for the youth navigating questions of pressure, purpose, and identity in todayโs world. His other works - The Gita Story, My Krishna, Bound by Love, Vedic Tales, and Epic Tales of Wisdom, reflect his unique ability to weave ancient insights into contemporary relevance and heartfelt storytelling.
Deeply committed to enriching urban lives, Nityanand Charan Das aims to help individuals lead lives of purpose, fulfillment, and satisfaction, both professionally and personally. Specializing in mentoring today's youth - children, teenagers, and young professionals - he inspires them to reconnect with their roots and embrace a simpler, happier way of living.
A sought-after speaker, he travels extensively across India and abroad, sharing wisdom from the Bhagavad Gita, Shrimad Bhagavatam, Ramayana, and Mahabharata in a way that resonates with audiences from all ages and backgrounds.
He also leads the Food for Life initiative at ISKCON South Mumbai, which serves sanctified meals to humble communities in Mumbai. The purpose of this initiative is not merely to feed the body but to nourish the soul-because we are what we eat. Each meal is prepared and served with devotion, with the hope of purifying thoughts, and inspiring spiritual upliftment across society.
Born into an army family, his early ambition was to join the armed forces, but destiny had different plans that led him to pursue Mechanical Engineering, eventually guiding him to his true calling as a monk at the age of 24.
His message is simple, yet profound:
โSpiritual life is not a life of rejection. It is a life of connection.โ
We do not need to give up anything; we only need to embrace this valuable dimension to enrich our lives.
