Jewish Community Center of Paramus/Congregation Beth Tikvah

Jewish Community Center of Paramus/Congregation Beth Tikvah We are proud to announce that Congregation Beth Tikvah in New Milford has joined with us. This represents a new chapter for the our synagogue.

The Jewish Community Center of Paramus/Congregation Beth Tikvah (JCCP/CBT) is a full service Conservative synagogue located in Northern Bergen County, New Jersey. We are a rarity among Conservative synagogues in that we offer both Traditional and Egalitarian services. It is among the center's tenets to foster a sense of community, and its many groups contribute to that sense. We have very active c

ommittees including Sisterhood, Men’s Club, Young Jewish Families, Community Affairs and Youth among others. Our newest group “Bergen Tribe” is committed to giving 20-30 year old young adults the opportunity to meet on a regular basis to network and enjoy social activities.

The JCCP/CBT CARE Committee participated in a new project to make weekends happier for many children who experience food insecurity This project was spearheaded by committee member Roberta Solar. One dozen CARE committee members and friends met on Wednesday to pack 50 child-friendly snack packs, which were donated to the Center for Food Action. These packs are distributed discretely to elementary students to provide extra nutrition for the weekends. We funded this project, which costs about $7 per package, through donations from generous synagogue members. Thank you to all who packed and contributed!

The JCCP/CBT Yom HaShoah - Holocaust Memorial Service was held the evening of Monday, April 13.
We were honored to that our guest for the service was Steven Montag, who told the story of his mother, Holocaust Survivor Esther Montag z"l and the Kielce Pogrom. Esther Montag's story of her experiences during the Shoah was heartbreaking but so important to hear. It was a very moving account of Esther's life.
Rabbi Weiner spoke about the importance of observing and remembering Yom HaShoah and Cantor Krasner participated as well.
