You don’t have to clean yourself up before you come to Jesus.

That’s the lie so many of us believe:
“I’ll go back to church when I get my act together.”
“I’ll pray once I’m doing better.”
“I’ll come to God after I fix this part of my life.”

But in Luke 17, the lepers didn’t wait until they were clean to cry out to Jesus. They came to Him in their need, in their shame, in their isolation, and shouted, “Jesus, Master, have pity on us.”

And Jesus met them there.

The good news of the gospel is not that you make yourself clean enough for God. The good news is that Jesus is the One who heals, forgives, restores, and saves.

So come to Him.
Come with your sin.
Come with your shame.
Come with your questions.
Come with your brokenness.

You don’t need to hide. You don’t need to perform. You don’t need to pretend.

Even the lepers could approach Jesus.

And so can you.

Beginning October 7, School of Ministry will spend three weeks looking honestly and biblically at suffering. We’ll explore A Theology of Suffering, Finding God in Personal Suffering, and Walking with Others Who Suffer.

These conversations are for all of us whether you’re walking through a difficult season yourself, supporting someone you love, or simply want to be better equipped to understand suffering through the lens of Scripture.
