Sr. Monica loved it when our MAPLE groups sang this prayer together (in four part harmony!). In this time of deep sadness, may we also be filled with gratitude for Sr. Monica's vision, hard work (and she would add - working with her PLC team), and kind hospitality which has allowed us the space to grow in music and faith. We are her legacy when we take the joy and peace we have experienced at PLC and live it in our lives and in community.

On this Earth Day, in the spirit of St. Francis' famous prayer for creation, we are proud to release this song from MAPLE leader Rebecca Maxwell. "Praise Be to You" was inspired by prayers of praise written by MAPLE 2016 participants for Taize Prayer. Music was inspired by the birdsong at Pyramid Lake. (Praised Be, or Laudato Si, is also the the title of Pope Francis' encyclical on the environment).

MAPLE Alum Lilianna Maxwell is now in a Jazz Ensemble at SUNY Paltz, and she managed to mash up "Sing to the Lord's Goodness" with "Take 5" during a recent gig. Now, we encourage our participants to be creative when they leave Pyramid Lake, but we will admit that we were not expecting this! Go Lilianna!

Have you signed up for leading music at the Chrism Mass yet, where the sacred oils are blessed for confirmation, anointing of the sick, and ordination? Rehearsals are March 9 and 16 (at St. Vincent's, Albany) and the Mass is March 21 (at the cathedral).

Who, you say?: Grades 7-12 and college students. Do you need me, you say?: Well, we're excited about those already coming but yes of course, we need YOU! You're amazing!

Technically, the registration deadline has already passed, and there are auditions scheduled for instrumentalists and cantors this coming Saturday (March 2). But ANY interested singers and instrumentalists are invited to contact Marie right away if they are interested - [email protected]. She'll make sure you get the forms and be glad to know you are coming.
