TODAY’S STUDY: For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal. – 2 Corinthians 4:17-18 (ESV)

Like you, I have faced difficult times in life, and I have learned to tell myself, “This can’t last forever. This, too, shall pass.” When you are going through hardship, deep disappointment, or some struggle that seems impossible, it’s easy to be tempted to think, I cannot stand this for one more day.

The devil takes advantage of our hurts and wounds and tempts us to think several times a day that our trials are going to last forever, that we will hurt for the rest of our lives, or that the negative effect of our problems will be permanent. We think, and sometimes fear, our pain will follow us everywhere we go for as long as we live. The truth is, nothing on earth lasts forever. The only thing we have that is eternal is our life in Christ. In the context of eternity, the struggles that seem unending in this life are actually quite brief. God always wants to heal us, restore us, and deliver us.

Chances are, you can look back over the course of your life and remember other times you have been hurt. God has been faithful to bring you through those times; you can be confident you will make it through this current challenge again through Christ, who gives you strength (Phil. 4:13).

Paul’s point in 2 Corinthians 4:17–18 is that seasons of difficulty always pass. They do not last forever. Going through trials is tough, but God is always with us—helping us, encouraging us, and fighting our battles for us. He never wants us to stay in pain. He always wants to heal us.

When you are tempted to become discouraged because you feel your journey to healing in your soul is taking a long time, remember: “This, too, shall pass.” Your afflictions may not seem “light and momentary” to you right now, but from the perspective of eternity, they are. No matter how difficult your situation may look, God loves you and has a good plan for your life. Your future is bright, and He is preparing you for something great.

Romans 8:28 says that we can “know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.” God can take even the hurts and wounds we endure and use them for good in our lives. They won’t last forever, and He will use them to strengthen us and to bless and help others.

Prayer of the Day: Lord, help me trust that my struggles are temporary and that You are with me, healing and restoring. Strengthen me to persevere, knowing this, too, shall pass, amen.

TODAY’S STUDY: Romans 8:28-32 (KJV)
28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
29 For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.
30 Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified.
31 What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?

God is never late. He is in charge of time and seasons and does His things in His own way. Take time to reflect on His undeserving mercy; The Lord has been merciful towards you, to your family and to the church as a whole. It is very essential that you spend quality time meditating on God’s assurance in the entire chapter 8 of the book of Romans. God’s timing is different from ours. He never comes too early nor runs late.

Do you know how many dangers your Father diverted from your path this month? Our situation with God is like a father taking his cup of hot tea in the morning and his toddler daughter wanting him to give her out of it. The father carefully takes a teaspoon, blows it before giving the toddler, who gets angry and throws a tantrum because she would rather drink from the cup like her father. But the father knows that putting that cup in her mouth would result in terrible burns! God operates with times and seasons in mind. He knows when to make things happen.

So what have you been looking up to God for that has not materialised? Is it a child? God is still fearfully and wonderfully making that wonderful child. Isaac, Joseph, Samuel, and John the Baptist all came late, but they made an impact in their time. Are you hoping to meet your life partner? God will connect you to your own spouse as He did for Rebecca. Rebecca just got to the well one day, and there was Abraham’s servant waiting for her with the mandate to bring her to Isaac. Is it a business breakthrough or a Job? God is tidying up a job for you! The Bible clearly states that He never forgets his own children. (Romans 8:32)

Beloved, if God did not spare His son but gave him up for us all then what else will He withhold from you. God knows the right time for your joy and will never deprive you of it. Continue in faith and prayer and it will surprise you what the Lord can do. Wait patiently upon the Lord. Surely your joy is around the corner (Psalm 30:5).

Prayer for today:
1. O God my Father, help me to wait patiently on You, in the name of Jesus.

2. Father, help me to trust in Your timing, in the name of Jesus.

3. Father, help to always remember that You are the God of all possibilities, in the name of Jesus.

4. O God my Father, I surrender my all to You, in the name of Jesus.

5. O God, help me to always remember the magnitude of Your love for me, in the name of Jesus.

6. O God, help me to always remember that You always want the best for me, in the name of Jesus.

7. Father, I thank You because You are not limited by time, in the name of Jesus.

TODAY’S STUDY: “But when [Peter] saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, ‘Lord, save me!’” Matthew 14:30 (NIV)

When you’re going through a storm, God is not distant or uninvolved. He is with you, and he is working in your life for your good.

If you feel like you’re sinking in a storm, here are five things God wants you to do:
Have courage, because Jesus is with you.

Don’t ever argue with a fear. Just send it straight to Jesus!

Take a risk in faith.

Don’t ask God to bless what you are doing. Instead, do what God is blessing. Ask him what he wants you to do, and then be willing to do it with him.

Stay focused on Jesus.

The moment you take your eyes off the Lord, you’re going under. Matthew 14:30 says, “But when [Peter] saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, ‘Lord, save me!’” (NIV). If you focus on the wind and the waves—your circumstances—you’re going to sink, just like Peter.

Don’t doubt.

You don’t need great faith to make it through the storm in your life. You just need faith in the right person—Jesus Christ.

Praise God.

Even in the storm, even when you feel like you’re sinking, even when you’re scared to death—praise him all the time. Thanking God is how you make it through.

What storm is scaring you right now? What storm is sinking you? Why do you think God is letting you go through this storm?

He’s letting you go through this storm for the same reasons he sent the disciples into the storm. He wants you to know: “I’m all you need. I can handle anything. And I’ll come walking on the very thing that scares you the most. I’m not asking you to come to me. I’m going to come to you.”

If you feel like you’re sinking today, don’t fear. Just call out to Jesus. You’ll find he’s with you.

TODAY’S STUDY: Judges 16:6
Amplified Bible, Classic Edition
6 And Delilah said to Samson, Tell me, I pray you, wherein your great strength lies, and with what you might be bound to subdue you.

Where lies the secret strength of faith? It lies in the food it feeds on; for faith studies what the promise is-an emanation of divine grace, an overflowing of the great heart of God; and faith says, "My God could not have given this promise, except from love and grace; therefore it is quite certain his Word will be fulfilled." Then faith thinketh, "Who gave this promise?" It considereth not so much its greatness, as, "Who is the author of it?" She remembers that it is God who cannot lie-God omnipotent, God immutable; and therefore concludeth that the promise must be fulfilled; and forward she advances in this firm conviction. She remembereth, why the promise was given,-namely, for God's glory, and she feels perfectly sure that God's glory is safe, that he will never stain his own escutcheon, nor mar the lustre of his own crown; and therefore the promise must and will stand. Then faith also considereth the amazing work of Christ as being a clear proof of the Father's intention to fulfil his word. "He that spared not his own Son, but freely delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?" Moreover faith looks back upon the past, for her battles have strengthened her, and her victories have given her courage. She remembers that God never has failed her; nay, that he never did once fail any of his children. She recollecteth times of great peril, when deliverance came; hours of awful need, when as her day her strength was found, and she cries, "No, I never will be led to think that he can change and leave his servant now. Hitherto the Lord hath helped me, and he will help me still." Thus faith views each promise in its connection with the promise-giver, and, because she does so, can with assurance say, "Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life!"

TODAY’S STUDY: Then the disciples came to Jesus and asked privately, Why could we not drive [the demon] out? He said to them, Because of the littleness of your faith [that is, your lack of firmly relying trust]. For truly I say to you, if you have faith [that is living] like a grain of mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, Move from here to yonder place, and it will move; and nothing will be impossible to you. Matthew 17:19-20 (AMPC)

I sometimes hear people say, “I just don’t have enough faith for that.” The truth is we all have the faith we need to do whatever God’s will is for us, but the key to success is where we place that faith. If you put your faith in yourself or in other people, you will be disappointed. But if you put it in God, you will be amazed at what He can do through you.

Remember: With men, this is impossible, but all things are possible with God (Matthew 19:26 AMPC).

Prayer of the Day: Father God, please help me to place my faith fully in You. I trust that with Your power, all things are possible. Strengthen my belief in Your ability to work through me, amen.

TODAY’S STUDY: But they continued to sin against him, rebelling in the wilderness against the Most High. Psalm 78:17 (NIV)

If you read all of Psalm 78, you will see that the Israelites had a bad attitude as they made their journey through the wilderness toward the Promised Land. I am certain that their bad attitudes started with negative thoughts. Thoughts lead to words, and words lead to emotional moods, attitudes, and actions. We know that the Israelites’ bad attitudes caused them to complain and speak negatively to and about their leaders, Moses and Aaron, which ultimately led to total rebellion.

We are wise to remember that our thoughts are the raw materials for our attitudes. If we think loving thoughts toward people, we will have an attitude of love toward them, and we will speak kindly and lovingly toward them. We will also express our love for them through our actions. This example of love and kindness is positive, but the same principle applies to negative thoughts, words, and attitudes.

In any situation, you can have a good attitude or a bad one, and it will begin with your thoughts. Choose positive thoughts today!

Prayer of the Day: Lord, help me choose to think godly thoughts so I will have godly attitudes.

TODAY’S STUDY: “My God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:19 (NIV)

Waiting for a miracle can be hard. Sometimes the road is cold, dark, and lonely; you may even find yourself stuck in a rut. You may not know where you’re going or how long the journey will take.

No matter where you are on the way to your miracle, here are some things you need to remember:
God is all you need.

You don’t need a big bank account, a full refrigerator, or even a job. If God wants to, he can have ravens drop food on you as his way of providing. That’s how he provided for the prophet Elijah, who was exhausted and burned-out in the desert; you can read about it in 1 Kings 17. When God turns off one source of provision, he can turn on another just as easily. You can trust him for all you need.

Where God guides, God provides.

After sending the ravens to feed Elijah, God told him to make a dangerous trip to Zarephath. There was a drought in Zarephath and very little food. Yet God provided for Elijah through a poor widow with a generous heart. When God tells you to go somewhere, go immediately. When God tells you to do something, do it right away. When God gives you direction, he will provide what you need to get there.

You must trust him one day at a time.

Why? Because some of your problems persist day after day. For instance, if you have financial problems, you’ll have to deal with them every day. And so you must trust God one day at a time to provide. The Bible says, “My God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:19 NIV).

God’s promises work when you’re obedient.

God often lays out his plan just one step at a time. He wants you to take the first step in obedience, and then he’ll show you the next step. Each step along the way may not seem logical, but you can obey in faith and confidence, knowing God’s way is always best.

07/01/2025

TODAY’S STUDY: “For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3:16 NLT)

The Bible’s greatest example of communicating the gospel is none other than Jesus Christ. Not only is He God, not only is He our Savior, but He also offers the perfect example of communication. He modeled how to communicate. You can read story after story in the Gospels of how Jesus approached people and how He spoke with them.

It’s worth noting that some of the most profound statements that Jesus ever made took place in one-on-one conversations. The words of John 3:16, which may be the most famous verse in the Bible, were spoken during Jesus’ one-on-one conversation with a religious man named Nicodemus.

One thing you’ll notice about Jesus is that He adapted His message to the people He spoke to. He adjusted how He communicated depending on the person’s needs, background, and situation in life. He was equally comfortable with—and effective in—talking to everyone from Israel’s leading religious leaders to the outcasts of society.

Often, when believers share their faith, they behave as though they’re preprogrammed computers. They get a glazed-over look in their eyes and repeat the same words to every person. It’s no wonder that the people they speak to tend to dismiss them as religious nuts and keep their distance.

This one-size-fits-all approach to sharing God’s truth is certainly not the example that Jesus gave us. He took time with people. He made an effort to understand them. Jesus also possessed something that is unknown to many Christians today. It’s called tact; it’s the intuitive knowledge of saying the right thing at the right time. Though it involves intuition, tact can be learned and sharpened with experience. Every time you interact with someone, you can come away with a better understanding of what you did right and what you could do better. All it takes is a little awareness.

In order to follow Jesus’ example, we need to treat each faith-sharing interaction as a unique opportunity. Instead of falling back on the “same old same old,” we need to stay in the moment. We need to listen carefully and compassionately to the things people share. We need to ask thoughtful follow-up questions to draw them out more, without getting too personal or setting off red flags. We need to be vulnerable and open about our own struggles, questions, and doubts. We need to build a rapport. We need to look for natural openings to talk about our faith, rather than awkwardly trying to inject a gospel presentation in the middle of a conversation about something else.

Most of all, however, we need to pray. We need to ask God to guide our words, to give us the wisdom to know what to say and when to say it. God’s desire is for us to be like His Son. If we pray for the ability to talk to others as Jesus did—to share God’s life-giving message as He did—God will answer our prayers in powerful and life-changing ways.

Reflection question: How can you be more like Jesus in the way you share your faith?

06/30/2025

TODAY’S STUDY: “You have a life-threatening condition and need to get medical attention for this situation immediately.”

I sat staring at the dentist with a stunned look on my face. This appointment was supposed to be for a root canal, but an X-ray revealed a much bigger problem.

A life-threatening condition? I knew I had an infection, but I had ignored the symptoms, completely unaware that it was a serious sinus situation — one that could have had fatal consequences if not addressed.

Over the next two weeks, I saw several specialists and underwent surgery to fix the problem.

Thankfully, I’m fine today. But that experience shook me deeply, forcing me to ask some tough questions:
Am I really living? Am I doing the things that bring joy to my heart? Have I pursued the dreams and callings God has placed within me? Or have I been putting them off — waiting for a better time, a slower season, more confidence, or a stronger faith?

In Psalm 90:12, Moses prayed, “Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.”

It’s a sobering reminder that life is short and unpredictable. But it’s also deeply freeing. When we realize our days are numbered, we start to value them more. We stop treating our desires and our purpose like projects we’ll get to “someday.”

Too often, you and I push aside the things that bring us joy, calling them impractical, selfish, or not important enough. But what if those ideas that keep stirring in your heart, the passions that make you come alive, are part of how God designed you to glorify Him?

Maybe it’s writing a book. Starting a business. Going back to school. Leading a group. Creating space in your life for what lights you up. Spending more time with loved ones. But you’ve been waiting for the “right time” …

When we understand how precious time really is, we stop pushing off the good and godly things that stir in our hearts. The things that bring us joy. We stop waiting for life to slow down or line up perfectly. We step forward, trusting that God gave us that desire for a reason and that He has a plan.

Joy isn’t a distraction from your calling. It’s often a signpost pointing toward it. God’s not just calling you to work hard — He’s calling you to live well. Embrace the passions He’s placed on your heart that make you come alive. That spark of joy may be the very invitation He’s using to guide your next step.

You don’t have to wait for a wake-up call to start living intentionally. Stop waiting for someday, and start pursuing God’s call on your life today.

Lord, help me not to waste the time You’ve given me. Teach me to number my days, living with purpose instead of fear. Show me the things I’ve delayed that bring me both joy and meaning, and give me the courage to pursue them now. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

TODAY’S STUDY: Jesus said, “I am with you always, to the end of the age.” – Matthew 28:20 (NRSVUE)

I never had a best friend growing up. I was a child of a career military officer, and my family moved 10 times by the time I was 13 years old. It seemed that as soon as I made a friend, my father would get orders to a new duty station, sometimes thousands of miles away. I vividly remember the hugs and tears during several partings with childhood friends. When my family settled in an area for several years when I was a teenager, I had a difficult time keeping friends. I held them at arm’s length, refusing to get too close emotionally. The hurt from all those childhood good-byes truly impacted my life.

When I accepted Jesus Christ as my Savior as an adult, I found him to be the lifelong friend I had never had. He is always with me, guiding, rescuing, helping, protecting, listening, and loving me. Jesus provides all of us with everlasting joy, hope, and peace. He has promised never to leave or forsake us. We can get to know Jesus by reading his words, following his example, and praising his name. Whatever life throws at us, we know we have Jesus, our friend who is just a prayer away.

Today’s Prayer
Dear Jesus, thank you for your presence with us. Help us to stay conscious of you in all circumstances. Amen.

Thought for the Day
Jesus said, “You are my friends if you do what I command” (Jn. 15:14).

TODAY’S STUDY: Then a third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, “If anyone worships the beast and his image, and receives his mark on his forehead or on his hand, he himself shall also drink of the wine of the wrath of God.... He shall be tormented with fire and brimstone.” Revelation 14:9-10

Depending on which survey one reads, a significant portion of evangelical Christians do not believe in hell. Those beliefs are held in spite of the clear biblical references to eternal separation from God, especially by Jesus Himself.

Jesus’ parable of the sheep and the goats (Matthew 25:31-46) is set in the context of the final judgment associated with His Second Coming. The righteous sheep are ushered into the Kingdom of God while the unrighteous goats are consigned to “the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels.... And these will go away into everlasting punishment, but the righteous into eternal life” (verses 41, 46). The words “everlasting fire” and “everlasting punishment,” taken at face value, support what John saw in his vision of eternal judgment: “The smoke of their torment ascends forever and ever” (Revelation 14:11).

Eternity awaits everyone. Make sure your destiny is eternal life through faith in Christ.
