During Mass for the Solemnity of the Sacred Heart of Jesus on Friday in Orlando, Florida, Cardinal Raymond Burke consecrated the U.S. to the Sacred Heart, telling those gathered that the fruitfulness of the consecration begins in the home. “There is no greater gift that we can give to our family and our homeland,” he said, “than the gift of our heart, one with the Immaculate Heart of Mary, the Virgin Mother of God, through the most Sacred Heart of Jesus.” This weekend our Archbishop will consecrate our Archdiocese to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and we are encouraged to consecrate our families through a special prayer. All families attending Mass will be given a painting of the Sacred Heart of Jesus to display in a prominent place in your home. May the peace and love of Christ fill you today and protect you from all harm.
