Patricia Denise Laster, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and faithful servant of God, went to rest in the arms of her Lord on August 27, 2026, at the age of 52. She was born to David and Genice Cardenas on March 21, 1974, in Newport, Arkansas.

From a very young age, her life belonged to God. At just four years old, she received the sweet gift of the Holy Ghost, and from that moment, she lived her entire life for the Lord. During her battle with cancer, she testified that she could not remember a day without knowing the Lord. Her faith was not simply a part of her life—it was the center of her life. Everything she did, every role she fulfilled, and every person she loved was touched by her love for God.

She cherished being a wife and mother above all. She was a devoted grandmother, a loving daughter and sister, and a treasured friend. She was also honored to serve as a pastor’s wife and Sunday school teacher, pouring her love, wisdom, and faith into the lives of others. She had a heart for people and a genuine desire to see others know and love God.

Outside of her ministry and family, she found joy in the simple things she loved: cooking, sewing, secondhand shopping, journaling, and playing the piano. These were more than hobbies—they were little pieces of the beautiful life she created and enjoyed.

She was preceded in death by her beloved grandchild, Baby Ray Laster; her grandparents, Jess and Uvellia Motes and David and Olivia Cardenas; her father-in-law, Ted Laster; and her two beautiful nieces, ShyAnn Lee and Amy Laster.

She is survived by her loving husband, Anthony Laster; her children, Brian and Rachel Laster, and Bethany and Derek Burnett; her grandchild, Emery Burnett; her parents, David and Genice Cardenas; her siblings, David Shane and Amanda Cardenas, and Melissa and Paul Lee; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, two of her best friends Cynthia Cornelison and Donna Marie, other dear friends and the Prevailing Word Apostolic Church family who will continue to cherish her memory.
