Robert L. “Mr. B” Bryan, 89, of Parker, went to be with the Lord on Monday, May 16, 2022.
Robert was born on November 5, 1932 in Jacksonville, FL. He graduated from Andrew Jackson High School in Jacksonville. Robert was a member of the LDS Church, Callaway Ward. He served 29 years in the U.S. Navy as a Chef, and after retirement, worked for 25 years at Morrison’s Cafeteria as a Restaurant Manager. His hobbies included being a die-hard Florida Gators fan, spending time at the AMVETS Club in Callaway, playing cards with his friends, watching sports and coaching baseball.
Robert is preceded in death by his son, Norman Bryan; father, James Basco Bryan; mother, Lola Lee Durrance Bryan Thompson; stepfather, Jesse James Thompson; brother, J.B. Bryan; and sisters, Lois Katcher, Frances Thorton; Jackie Bagley and Olive Hagan.
Left to treasure his memory is his wife of 59 ½ years, Maureen J. Bryan; granddaughter who was like a daughter to them, Rosa Dawn Bennett (Farand Nelson); sons, Albert J. Bryan “Joey” (Linda D***s), Sean Michael Bryan “S. Bee” (Natalie Rakestraw); grandchildren, Bella Carrol Bryan and Jadian Rose; great-grandchildren, Andre Nelson, Blaise Nelson, Aaliyah Nelson and Nevaeh Nelson; brothers, Richard “Mickie” Bryan, Larry Bryan and Joe Bryan; and sister, Linda Archibeque.
The family extends special thanks to Courtney Marsh and Rev. Craig Brannon and the rest of the Covenant Hospice staff, as well as the entire staff of Sims VA Nursing facility.
A celebration of life will take place on Saturday, June 4th, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Heritage Funeral Home with Rev. Craig Brannon, Rev. Virgil Tillman and Pastor Blake Smith officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Covenant Hospice and/or Sims Veterans Home.
