Hey, parents! As you’re on the road today, let’s start a conversation. There are lots of ways we can practice putting others before ourselves.
Here are some ideas to get you started:
• Help Mom and Dad without being asked. Do things like setting the table, sweeping/vacuuming, or cleaning up your bedroom.
• Invite new people to sit with you at church and school.
• Let someone take your place waiting in line.
• Let someone else take the last cookie or dessert.
• Do a sibling’s chore for them.
• Let a sibling or friend sit in the front seat of the vehicle. (if they are at the legal age of course!)
When we put others before ourselves, we are showing them God’s love without saying a word. Read about this truth in Luke 14:1, 7–15.
We want to be a part of your family discussion! Share your thoughts, conversations, and practical ways to put others first in the comments below.
