PASTOR MIKE’S DAILY DEVOTIONAL

Scripture

Proverbs 11:25 (NIV)

“A generous person will prosper; whoever refreshes others will be refreshed.”

Meditation

When many people think about generosity, they immediately think about money. Yet some of the most meaningful acts of generosity have little to do with dollars and cents.

A generous word can lift a discouraged heart.

A listening ear can ease a heavy burden.

A shared meal can remind someone that they are not forgotten.

In today’s world, it is easy to become focused on our own needs, schedules, and concerns. But generosity invites us to look beyond ourselves and notice the people around us. Sometimes what another person needs most is not a large gift but a simple act of kindness that says, “I see you, and you matter.”

What is remarkable about God’s design is that generosity blesses both the giver and the receiver. The person receiving the kindness is refreshed, encouraged, and strengthened. At the same time, the giver experiences the joy that comes from making a difference in someone else’s life.

Today, ask yourself: Who can I refresh? Whose burden can I lighten? What simple act of kindness can I offer?

You may discover that as you refresh others, God refreshes you as well.

Thought for the Day

Generosity is not measured by how much you give but by how much love accompanies what you share.

Prayer

Gracious God,

Thank You for every blessing You have placed in our lives. Help us to be generous with our time, our words, our resources, and our compassion. Open our eyes to the needs of others and give us hearts that are willing to share what we have. May our acts of kindness reflect Your love and bring encouragement to those who need it most.

Refresh us as we seek to refresh others, and may our lives be a testimony to Your goodness and grace.

In Jesus’ name we pray.

Amen.

Proverbs 3:5–6 (NIV)

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.”

Meditation

One of the hardest things about faith is that God rarely shows us the entire journey at once.

We would like to see the whole map before taking the first step. We want certainty before commitment, answers before action, and guarantees before obedience. Yet faith often feels like navigating through a fog where we can only see a short distance ahead.

That is where trust begins.

The lighthouse does not remove the fog. It simply provides enough light to keep moving forward. In the same way, God does not always reveal every detail of our future, but He faithfully provides the guidance we need for today.

Some of us are waiting for clarity about our health, our family, our finances, our future, or a decision that weighs heavily on our hearts. The temptation is to stop moving until every question is answered.

But God invites us to trust Him even when visibility is limited.

The path becomes clear one step at a time.

You do not have to see the entire journey. You only need to trust the One who does.

Prayer

Gracious God, when the path ahead is unclear, help us to trust You more than our fears. Give us the courage to move forward with the light You provide today. Remind us that You are guiding our steps even when we cannot see the whole journey. Strengthen our faith, calm our hearts, and help us follow Your direction with confidence and peace. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

SCRIPTURE

“If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”
— 2 Chronicles 7:14 (NIV)

MEDITATION

Most change begins quietly.

Before nations are healed, before communities are restored, before relationships are repaired, God calls His people to something deeply personal. He calls us to humility, prayer, and reflection.

Notice that God’s invitation does not begin with changing someone else. It begins with looking inward. The journey starts when we are willing to pause, open our hearts, and honestly examine where we are and where God is leading us.

In a world filled with noise, distractions, and endless demands, there is something powerful about sitting quietly with God’s Word and allowing it to shape our thoughts, attitudes, and actions.

God’s promise is not merely that He will listen. His promise is that He will respond. When we seek Him sincerely, He hears. When we confess honestly, He forgives. When we return to Him wholeheartedly, He brings healing.

Sometimes the most important step we take today is not a large step at all. Sometimes it is simply opening God’s Word, bowing our hearts, and saying, “Lord, show me what You want to change in me.”

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY

The path to healing often begins with a quiet moment of humility before God.

PRAYER

Gracious God, thank You for inviting us into a relationship that transforms our hearts and renews our lives. Help us to humble ourselves before You, seek Your face, and trust Your guidance. Give us the courage to turn away from anything that separates us from Your will. Hear our prayers, forgive our shortcomings, and bring Your healing presence into our lives, our families, our communities, and our world. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

PASTOR MIKE’S DAILY DEVOTIONAL

Scripture

“Weeping may stay for the night, but rejoicing comes in the morning.”
— Psalm 30:5 (NIV)

Meditation

There are moments in life when all we can do is sit quietly and wait for the sun to rise.

We have prayed. We have cried. We have carried burdens that few people know about. We have wrestled with disappointment, loss, uncertainty, and questions that seem to have no easy answers.

The psalmist reminds us that weeping is part of the human journey. Tears are not a sign of weakness. They are often evidence that we have loved deeply, hoped sincerely, and endured faithfully.

Yet God does not leave us in the darkness.

As surely as the sun rises each morning, God’s grace meets us in our moments of sorrow. The night may feel long, but it is not permanent. The pain we carry today will not have the final word.

Sometimes joy comes as a breakthrough. Sometimes it comes as healing. Sometimes it comes as renewed strength to face another day. And sometimes it comes through the quiet assurance that God has been with us all along.

If you find yourself in a season of waiting today, keep looking toward the horizon. God is still working. Morning is coming.

Thought for the Day

The tears you shed during the night are not forgotten by God. Keep your eyes on the horizon. The same God who carried you through the darkness is preparing joy for the morning.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, thank You for being with us during life’s darkest nights. When our hearts are heavy and our spirits are weary, remind us that Your presence never leaves us. Give us the strength to endure, the faith to trust, and the hope to keep looking toward the morning You have prepared for us. Help us to remember that our tears are seen, our prayers are heard, and Your love remains constant through every season. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
