Good Tuesday Morning Everyone. I hope your holiday weekend was good.

Today’s devotion is from Psalm 143:10 - “Teach me to do Your will,
For You are my God; Your Spirit is good. Lead me in the land of uprightness.”

Here, the psalmist makes a plea to be taught God’s will. Why? Why would we want to know and do God’s will? The psalmist has the answer - because God, Himself, is the psalmist’s God. Not himself, not his possessions, not his money, nothing! Nothing is the psalmist’s god. Only God.

We could learn a lot from that simple statement. We like to think we know what we want, or need. But in reality, our wants, desires and needs are only selfish because that’s just how we are made. We are born with a “me first” nature.

But if we choose to follow God, we are reborn with a new desire. A desire to follow and please God. It’s not difficult, boring or without reward. It’s just different. If you’ve not yet experienced that change in your life, I am praying you will, while there is still time.

Please, accept Jesus as your Savior and know a different life, a different heart and a different outlook on what you desire. I pray you do.

Happy Friday!! Hope you have a good Labor Day weekend!! Thank you to all who work at keeping our nation moving and keep providing!!

Today’s devotion is from 2 Timothy 1:13-14 - “Hold fast the pattern of sound words which you have heard from me, in faith and love which are in Christ Jesus. That good thing which was committed to you, keep by the Holy Spirit who dwells in us.”

Here, Paul writes his second letter to young Timothy. His encouragement is much needed and appropriate as Timothy deals with young churches who are not sure about what to do. Remember, Christ-following churches were new, struggling and persecuted!

But we can learn a lot from Paul’s letter to Timothy. His encouragement, wisdom, and guidance were instrumental in building what is now the church we have today. The church that desires, believes and follows God’s word to show others the one and only way to an eternity with God - through a belief in Jesus Christ, the Son of God - crucified for your sins and mine.

Jesus is the ONLY way, the truth and the life!!!

Do you believe? I pray you do, before you never have another opportunity.

Happy Thursday!!! Make it a good one!

Today's devotion is from Isaiah 48:17 - "Thus says the Lord, your Redeemer, The Holy One of Israel: “I am the Lord your God, who teaches you to profit, who leads you by the way you should go."

I cannot even imagine what it would be like to have a true conversation with God. Don't get me wrong, the Holy Spirit guides and comforts, but to actually have a conversation with God! I truly believe that is how it was with the OT prophets. Whether it was that still small voice, a dream or something else, but I believe the prophets heard from God Himself.

Here Isaiah hears from God as God proclaims He is "The Lord your God"! But he doesn't stop there. He goes on to tell Isaiah the blessings and guidance He gives.

He says, "I teach you for profit". What profit?? The profit of eternal life! Without God, there is no life, no eternal life. But it's a decision we must each make. God doesn't throw Himself on us, He gives us the choice to choose Him freely. It's OUR choice.

Then God says, "I lead you the way you should go". You see, without God, we are simply walking through this life without true guidance, without direction. My question to you is this - Where are you going in life??? Take a second and think about that. Where do you want to go in this llife?

The bigger question is - Where will you spend eternity? With God or without. I choose WITH! My desire is to spend eternity in heaven, worshipping the great God of eternity.

What choice did/will you make. We must ALL make a choice. Remember, no choice, is a choice.

Good Wednesday Morning!

Today's devotion is from Psalm 119:64 - "The earth, O Lord, is full of Your mercy; teach me Your statutes."

The Psalmist makes a statement - "The earth is full of God's Mercy". He states truth to remind us that only through God's mercy do we even have a chance at heaven. It's God's great mercy that sent His Son and it's His great mercy that saves us through the shed blood of Jesus!

Then, the Psalmist makes a request of God that we would be VERY smart to echo - "Teach me You statutes". What ARE statutes? They are rules, commands and prohibitions. That's very interesting. The writer asks God to teach him. Again, we would do good in begging the same of God!!!

But how does God teach us? He's Spirit. The answer is right in front of many of us! We learn of God and His "statutes" by reading God's word, listening to the preaching of God's word, and PRAYER. All of these in combination will give us the greatest opportunity to learn God's rules, commands and prohibitions!

So, my question is this - How are we doing??

Happy Wednesday. It's raining here!

Today's devotion is from Romans 12:4-5 - "For as we have many members in one body, but all the members do not have the same function, so we, being many, are one body in Christ, and individually members of one another."

Just as each part of our body has a very specific function that assists the body to work as a single organism, God has a task for each of us, and each task is different.

You may, or may not, be a Pastor, a deacon, a Sunday School Teacher, a song leader, an usher, a greeter or a prayer warrior. Each task is VERY specific, but each task is an itegral part of the church.

But there's ONE thing that we all have in common - telling others about Jesus and His saving power. Our tasks may be different, but we all pay a part in the kingdom of God. So my question is -

How are we doing??

Let's do God's work while we have time.

Happy Tuesday! Enjoy!

Today's devotion is from Psalm 119:165 - "Great peace have those who love Your law, and nothing causes them to stumble."

What or who do we depend on to hold us up in tmes where we are not sure we can stand?? The Psalmist knew. Do you??

When we don't think we can take another step, God will be right there, giving us the strength we need to take that next step, then the next and the next. Our strength may fade and those around us may abandon us in our time of need, but God NEVER will.

Do you trust Him to strengthen you? Do you trust Him with your life? I pray you do.

I know I do!

Good Monday Morning! Have a good day!

Today's devotion is from Psalm 116:1-2 - "I love the Lord, because He has heard my voice and my supplications. Because He has inclined His ear to me, therefore I will call upon Him as long as I live."

Who or what do we depend on each day? Do we depend on ourselves, our decisions and our strength?? If so, then we are depending on the wrong things!!

The Psalmist has his mind and heart in the right place! He depends on God. As we have needs and desires, we're to give them over to God, allowing Him to bless and support as He sees fit. God, in His omniscience, knows exactly what we need and DON'T need. He blesses as He sees we are in need. We should depend on Him.

How are we doing??
