CALLED & EQUIPPED

Jesus didn't call the disciples and then send them out empty-handed.

He gave them authority before He gave them an assignment.

Whatever Jesus calls us to do, He will equip us to do.
We don't have to operate in our own strength.

We go with what He has given us.

IT'S TIME TO GET UP

"For which is easier, to say, 'Your sins are forgiven you,' or to say, 'Arise and walk'?" — Matthew 9:5

Faith brought him to Jesus.

Jesus dealt with the root.

Then Jesus told him to ARISE.

There are things God has called us out of that we were never meant to lie back down in.

When Jesus speaks, it's time to get up.

Get up and walk in grace.
Get up and walk in forgiveness.
Get up and walk in freedom.
Get up and walk in what God has called you
to do.

"And he arose and departed to his house!"
- Matthew 9:7

Yesterday he was being carried.

Now he was walking home carrying the very thing that once carried him.

That's what Jesus can do.

So if today is a fight-fight through it.

Don't give up.
You're not done.

Walk in grace.
Walk in forgiveness.
Walk in the freedom Jesus gives.

"Arise, take up your bed, and go to your house."
- Matthew 9:6

Jesus spoke.

Then the man had a decision to make.

He could remain where he had been lying—or respond to the word Jesus had given him.

There comes a time when faith has to move.

When Jesus says arise...

We gotta get up.

Get up from what held you.
Get up from what defined you.
Get up and walk in what God has called you
to do.

DON'T JUST CHASE THE SYMPTOM
Sometimes what keeps showing up isn't the real problem.

There may be something deeper that needs to be dealt with.

If we only address what's on the surface, we can find ourselves fighting the same battle over and over again.

Jesus sees beyond the symptom.

He knows where it started.
He knows what keeps feeding it.
And He knows exactly how deep the healing needs to go.

Let Jesus deal with the root.

JESUS DEALS WITH THE ROOT

"Son, be of good cheer; your sins are forgiven you."
— Matthew 9:2

They brought Jesus a man who couldn't walk.

But before Jesus dealt with what everyone could see, He addressed something deeper.

We spend a lot of time asking God to change the symptoms while He is trying to reach the root.

Because if the root remains, we can find ourselves fighting the same battle again.

Don't be afraid to let Jesus go deeper.

He isn't interested in simply making things look better.

He came to make us whole.

A FAITH THAT WON'T QUIT

"When Jesus saw their faith..." - Matthew 9:2

He couldn't get himself to Jesus.

So somebody carried him.

Faith doesn't always look like having all the strength you need.

Sometimes faith looks like refusing to quit.
Refusing to stop praying.
Refusing to stop believing.
Refusing to leave someone where they are.

Jesus saw their faith.

Keep carrying.
Keep praying.
Keep believing.

Have a faith that won't quit.
