Biblically, “lawlessness” is rejecting God’s moral order. The Greek word “anomia” means “without law,” and it looks like Judges 21:25—“everyone did what was right in his own eyes.” Sound familiar for today?

Scripture says it will only intensify. The “mystery of lawlessness” is already at work and will climax with the “lawless one” (the Antichrist) who comes “with all power, signs, and lying wonders” (2 Thess. 2:7–9). Why are people so vulnerable? Because they “did not receive the love of the truth” and “took pleasure in unrighteousness” (vv. 10–12). Yet his end is certain: the Lord will destroy him “with the breath of His mouth and the brightness of His coming” (v. 8 ).

How do we spot the spirit of lawlessness now? John says it begins by denying “that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh” (1 John 4:3). But even Christians can drift into it when we: (1) relabel evil as good (Isaiah 5:20), (2) defile the flesh, reject authority, and slander dignitaries (Jude 8 ) (3) grow cold toward others (Matt 24:12), and (4) spread false teaching (2 Peter 2). In order not to succumb, we must do the opposite.

John also adds hope to any one discouraged: “You have an anointing from the Holy One, and you know all things” (1 John 2:20). The Spirit equips believers to discern lies and cling to what’s true in an age of selfish rebellion.

So don’t fixate on the lawless; fix your eyes on Christ. Pray, “Oh, how I love Your law! It is my meditation all the day” (Psalm 119:97). Love the truth, live the truth, and let the light of Jesus expose every counterfeit.

Press on!

"Why the “Love-Only” Gospel Is Failing the Church
Modern Christianity has elevated a shallow version of love and called it faith. God is portrayed as endlessly gentle, endlessly affirming, and never demanding. Truth is optional. Obedience is uncomfortable. Repentance is avoided.

But Scripture doesn’t support that picture.

Many now believe love means acceptance without change. Agreement without repentance. Grace without obedience. If Scripture challenges behavior, it’s dismissed as judgment. Yet that kind of “love” doesn’t save—it slowly destroys.

Biblical love speaks truth. It warns when paths lead to harm. It refuses to bless what God forbids. And it always aims to bring people fully to Christ, not just emotionally close to Him.

Jesus didn’t negotiate with sin. He confronted it. He didn’t build His ministry on vibes—He built it on truth. He said love for Him is demonstrated through obedience (John 14:15).

Yes, God is love (1 John 4:8). But that same God disciplines His children (Hebrews 12:6). Grace and truth are inseparable (John 1:14).

A faith that never corrects isn’t compassionate—it’s cowardly. A church that refuses to confront sin produces believers who are emotionally charged but spiritually shallow.

So ask honestly: do you want the Savior who comforts—or the King who commands?

Because the Jesus of Scripture doesn’t adjust truth to fit feelings.
He calls people out of sin—and into life."

Jelly Roll spent 13 years in and out of jail, written off by the world and trapped in cycles that felt impossible to escape. He’s been honest about how dark those seasons were, saying there was a moment when “all I had was a Bible and a radio” in a small jail cell. No platform. No fame. No applause. Just God meeting him in the lowest place and planting hope where it looked like none could grow.

Last night at the Grammys, that same man stood on one of the biggest stages in the world holding a Grammy in his hands—and instead of glorifying himself, he glorified Jesus Christ. He openly testified that without God, he believes he would be dead, back in jail, or worse. What began in a prison cell turned into a public declaration of faith, redemption, and grace in front of millions of people.

This is what the Gospel does. God doesn’t look for perfect people—He redeems broken ones. He meets people in jail cells, addiction, shame, failure, and despair, and He rewrites their stories. Jelly Roll’s life is living proof that your past does not disqualify you from God’s purpose. In fact, it often becomes the very platform God uses to display His power.

If God can take a man with a criminal record, a Bible, and a radio—and turn him into a Grammy winner boldly proclaiming Jesus—then there is no one beyond redemption. No story too far gone. No sin too great. God can change anyone!
