Here at Palouse Federated Church, we have supported Ross Point Camp for many years. Through that support, we’ve been able to send students from our church—and churches in the surrounding area—to camp, giving them the opportunity to grow in their faith and experience Christian community in a powerful way.

We are incredibly thankful for everyone who has donated and helped make it possible for students to attend camp. Your generosity has made a lasting impact. Camp is a special place where many students encounter God, build meaningful relationships, and experience life change.

Ross Point Camp & Conference Center is preparing for the 2026 season, and we would love for you to join us in serving. Volunteering at Ross Point is more than helping at camp—it’s partnering in the work God is doing in the lives of campers, families, and communities.

If you are interested in volunteering, please scan the QR code or click the link to fill out our Volunteer Interest Form. We would love to connect with you and share how you can be part of what God is doing here at Ross Point.

Join us in the month of January for some Skills for youth classes. These classes are targeted towards teaching youth useful skills for everyday life from learning to give someone CPR to how to apply for a job. The First aid/CPR/AED class is limited to 12 students but we well have another class in February for the students who were unable to attend. The Cooking class is limited to 6 students but we well be having more cooking classes in the future. It is important to register your student so we can make sure there is a spot for them for class.

First Aid/CPR/AED training (Instructors Annie and Marv Pillers and Hua Ming Newman)

This is a great class for your students to gain lifesaving tools that they can use. Some things we talk about in the class are how to wash your hands, how to preform CPR and use an AED. Another thing we teach is how to use a tourniquet. If you do not get into this class, we will be doing another class in February.

Cooking/Baking Class (Teacher Betty Sawyer)

While there is a limit on the cooking and baking class we hope to plan more of this type of class in the future. If you know of anyone else who would like to teach future classes, please reach out to Hua Ming Newman (509) 509-7125. This class will teach the students a recipe that they can make at home as well as showing them that cooking can be fun.

Resume/Interviews (Speaker Wil Edwards)

Have you ever felt that school teaches skills on making resumes and doing interviews late in their education? This class is to teach students how to create a resume as well as what to expect in an interview. Our guest speaker Wil Edwards is the owner of Sid’s Pharmacy and is going to teach these students about what he is looking for in resumes and interviews.

Youth Group Parent Meeting | December 12th at 6 PM

Please note that the Meeting has been postponed due to a school concert.

Parents, we will be holding a parent meeting on December 12th at 6 PM at Palouse Federated Church. This will be a time to reflect on everything that’s happened with the youth group this year and discuss our plans and goals for the future. I'm excited for this opportunity to remind us that this youth group isn’t mine or the church’s—it belongs to God, and He ultimately leads what happens here. I also want to hear your thoughts about what we’re doing well, what we could improve, and what you hope to see going forward. Your input is crucial to the growth of this ministry, as you are just as much a part of it as the students and leaders. Students are also welcome and encouraged to join us for this meeting! Their thoughts, ideas, and perspectives are just as important as ours in shaping how this group moves forward. I encourage you to ask your student what they want to see from this group—we want everyone to feel heard and valued as we grow together. If you aren’t able to attend but still want to share your ideas, please don’t hesitate to reach out. Thank you for entrusting us with the opportunity to minister to your students. It’s a joy and privilege to walk alongside them as they learn about who God is and grow in their faith. Your support and involvement have truly made this the best job in the world, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to spend time with your youth. Looking forward to seeing you there!

God Gave us Jesus, What can we Give!: The Greatest Gift

This week in youth group, we explored the incredible truth of John 3:16-17: that God loved the world so much He gave His only Son, Jesus, as the greatest gift to humanity. We talked about how Jesus’ sacrifice brings eternal life and hope to those who believe in Him and how we can live in gratitude for this extraordinary gift. We also tied this lesson into our December theme, "God Gave Us Jesus, What Can We Give?" by encouraging the students to think about ways they can serve their communities as a way of reflecting God’s love. We challenged them to consider how their actions, like kindness, forgiveness, and generosity, can show others the same love and grace that Jesus has shown to us.

We’d love for you to continue this conversation at home! Ask your child what stood out to them about the lesson and how they plan to share Jesus’ love with someone this week. You might also brainstorm ways your family can give back together, whether it’s through acts of service, prayer, or sharing about Jesus with others. Thank you for your support in helping our youth grow in faith and love

Camp Firelight VBS is approaching! VBS is from August 5-9, 9 AM to noon at Hayton-Greene Park in Palouse WA. Crew leader meeting August 4th at 7 PM at Hayton-Greene Park in Palouse WA.

Camp Firelight VBS is based on Psalm 56:3: “Whenever I’m afraid, I put my trust in you.” This verse reminds us that we can trust God no matter what challenges we face in life. Camp Firelight invites us to put our trust in God in every situation, including during times when we might be afraid. Surrounded by water, trees, and rolling hills, Camp Firelight is the perfect location for every Camper’s favorite summer activities! Through these stories, this program will teach us about people in the Bible who experience the gift of a trusting relationship with God, and it will teach us to trust God to go with us, to lead the way, to share wisdom, to give us peace, and to spark joy as we celebrate the good news of Jesus in our own lives and in the lives of others. We will also learn ways we can connect with and put our trust in God, whenever we are afraid, challenged, or called to do God’s work in the world and share the good news of God’s love through Jesus Christ.
