A parish of 350 families, Saint Spyridon serves the Orthodox community of Chicago's south suburbs with a full liturgical and community life. Saint Spyridon contains some of the finest Byzantine iconography and architecture in our Archdiocese. Over 150 southside seniors gathered on Tuesday, June 2nd, for the Christianiki Philoxenia event, hosted by St. Spyridon Philoptochos!
It was a wonderful day of faith, fellowship, traditional music by Grecian Formula, and a delicious luncheon prepared by Chef Dean Eliacostas and crew.
Heartfelt thanks to our amazing chairladies, Toula Georgiopoulos, Olga Paxinos, and Maria Karamangianis, to Sophia Kopanitsanos and Dina Katsoulis for preparing the Artous and bread for the tables and to all the Philoptochos ladies who made this day so special. Και του χρόνου! 🇬🇷✨

We had a wonderful Christian Philoxenia fellowship today! We thank the Philoptochos of St. Spyridon, Mike Michael Orrico Orrico Funeral for his generosity, the Grecian Formula who performed beautiful traditional Greek songs, our chefs, Dean Eliacostas and Lambro Tzimas, the students from Morraine and all who came today! It was a beautiful day!
