The Vicariate V Ministry Commission was formed in 1996 to provide opportunities for training and spiritual growth for the volunteer leadership in Catholic parishes in the southwest region of the Archdiocese of Chicago. Under the leadership of then – Bishop John Gorman, professional pastoral leaders worked collaboratively to bring quality workshops and experiences to the people of God in local pari
shes. Since that time, more than 20,000 lay leaders have participated in these formation opportunities, expanding the richness of parish life and deepening their personal spirituality. Today, Commissioners continue to gather as a Vicariate leadership team, to serve as liaisons to local pastors, to read the signs of the times, and to use their gifts and talents to help build vital Catholic parishes. If you have ideas for trainings or workshops – or if there is a presenter you would love to hear live and in person – please contact the Ministry Commission. Our purpose is to serve pastors and parishioners as they journey to BELIEVE, BELONG, and BECOME Catholic disciples of our Lord Jesus Christ.
