✨🙌 The REDEMPTIVE story of God delivering His people from slavery into freedom.🕊️
The Passover Seder meal points back to when the Israelites placed the blood of the lamb on their doorposts so that death would pass over them. In the same way, Christ took our place on the cross. During this meal, He prepared His disciples for His departure, revealing that He Himself would become the perfect Lamb—the true atonement and sacrifice. He gave His body as the spotless offering for us.
🍞🍷 During the Passover described in Luke 22:7–15, Jesus spoke of the bread as His body given for us and the cup as His blood. By partaking in the bread and the cup, His followers were not only sharing in that moment but also establishing something to be carried forward for generations—a way to remember what Christ has redeemed us from.
This is why communion is so important. It is not meant to be something we do occasionally or out of routine, but something we intentionally return to. The blood represents the ultimate offering to God, reminding us that our own strength, efforts, or achievements are not sufficient for atonement. Only a perfect sacrifice could accomplish that—and Christ fulfilled it so we could be reconciled to the Father.
Jesus instructed us to do this in remembrance of Him. Because of this, communion should not be rushed or treated lightly. Instead, it is a time to allow the Lord to examine our hearts, to respond in obedience, and to pursue a deeper, more intimate relationship with Him. 📖🤍
