We had a beautiful Sunday with Blessing of our children’s Backpacks to prepare them for the first day of school🎒🙏 There were a few missing: Jadon, Elijah & Scarlet Murphy, Collins Smyser & the Bailey girls❣️. We prayed for all of them! We also included our Teachers to come forward so they could be Blessed as well🙏❤️. Please keep all of our youth & their teachers as well as all school staff, Secretaries, Custodians, Cooks, Bus Drivers & Administration that they may be good leaders & spread knowledge & skills to guide & protect each other🙏❤️Amen❣️

Would anyone be interested in this as a September Community Service Project. I would be willing to put a collection box at back of Sanctuary &/or collect monetary donations & so the shopping.

PJ’s Closet is a resource at Palmyra Middle School that provides students with basic necessities they may need throughout the school year. Our goal is to make sure students have access to everyday items that help them feel comfortable, confident, supported, and ready to learn.

We are currently looking for donations of items such as:
🧴 Shampoo & conditioner
🧼 Body wash & soap
🪥 Toothbrushes & toothpaste
🧼 Deodorant
🩷 Feminine hygiene products
🧺 Laundry & personal care items
…and other basic necessities our students may need.

We’ve put together an Amazon Wish List with examples of the items we are currently looking for. You do NOT have to purchase through Amazon! The list is simply an easy way to see the types of items we need and provides options for anyone who would like to order online.

📦 If you do order through Amazon: Amazon will give you the option to have your donation shipped directly to Palmyra Middle School!

🏫 Prefer to shop locally? Donations can be dropped off at the Palmyra Middle School office between 8:00 AM–3:30 PM.

Every donation, big or small, helps us make sure our students have access to the basic needs they deserve. 🧡

Our church is providing lunch for the workers at JT’s home on South Dickerson Friday, July 31 at 11:45. Rodney Kuntemeyer has been gracious enough to volunteer to pick up the sandwiches at Subway & deliver them to the house. Kevin said he could bring out cooler with the drinks & the chips. I would like to request cookies, brownies, Rice Krispie Treats or other easy desserts that they can eat while in the work area if anyone could provide those & I’m still accepting money for the sandwiches, drinks & chips. Also, if any of the ladies would be able to meet Rodney & Kevin at the house it would be nice to have some other friendly faces from our church to represent our Church Family. We would also like to Congratulate Dan Hurst on his retirement from HLG University. According to HLG’s announcement Dan has been head softball Coach at HLG 25 years, as well as mentoring countless student athletes! They say his impact reaches far beyond wins and losses. He also has 47 years of coaching & teaching. Dan has been a member & leader of our congregation as Deacon, Sunday School Superintendent & Elder as well as many other behind the scene contributions! Dan is married to his wife Karma & he has 3 beautiful daughters Lacy Despres & her husband Shane, Ivy & her husband & Sophie & her husband Michael Dempsey, Ivy Dietrich & her husband He is grandfather to 4 wonderful grandchildren Grady, Briar, Spencer & Craig! I’m a little late posting this but still wanted to share…One of our own, Grady Depres, was awarded the Citizenship Award at Palmyra Middle School at the Awards Assembly! Grady is the son of Shane & Lacy Despres & Grandson of Dan & Karma Hurst. He will be a Freshman at Palmyra High School this upcoming school year. As his Sunday School Teacher I am extremely proud of Grady though I was not at all surprised by his award❣️ He truly is a great example of kindness, & shows care & compassion to all those he meets. Congratulations Grady!

We packed as much fun in to celebrating Jesus’ Resurrection in Sunday School! Our traditional “Resurrection Rolls” are alway a BIG hit. A long time tradition introduced by our own Linda Helms! We thank her for the preparation ahead of time! We couldn’t do it without her❣️. While those we baking we introduced a me game & although it didn’t quite work the way we hoped, it was still a big hit with all of them! We enjoyed Easter Donuts from Mandyish & practiced our song & dance the kids would perform in church services! We were Blessed by Steve’s return in the Pulpit after his unexpected medical leave! Thankful for Dennis Fletcher filling in while Steve was absent! God is Good🙏❤️. We had a full house to continue the celebration in the Sanctuary. Blessings from above✝️. Please, if you are looking for a Church Home, come worship with us! Sunday School at 9, Worship at 10. We would love to have you & we know you will feel God’s presence in this place✝️
