It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Abdul Rasheed, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and a pillar of the Islamic Center of NJ. He returned to his Creator on Friday, February 20, 2026.
He leaves behind his loving wife Anjum Rasheed, daughter Lena Siddiqi, son Zeshaan Rasheed, son-in-law Faisal Siddiqi, and daughter-in-law Farheena Rasheed. He is also survived by his cherished grandchildren Leyla Rasheed, Aleeza Rasheed, Zahra Rasheed, Kaiden Siddiqi, and Lilia Siddiqi.
Abdul Rasheed was among the founders and guiding figures of the community, devoted to building an inclusive space of worship, education, and service.
He was a devout Muslim, a kind-hearted family man, a generous friend, an educator, and a leader in the community, and overall, revered as a pillar to all who knew him. He dedicated special care and attention to the youth of the community, encouraging them to seek knowledge, serve others, and remain steadfast in their faith.
Brother Abdul Rasheedโs wisdom, laughter, and quiet acts of kindness will continue to inspire hearts for generations.
The family will be present at the masjid prior to Salat-ul-Janaza starting at 11:30 am to receive condolences and meet with those who wish to offer their prayers and support.
Salat-ul-Janaza will be held on Saturday, February 21, 2026 after Dhuhr (1:15 iqama) at:

May Allah Almighty forgive his sins, expand his grave, and grant him a place among the righteous in Jannat-ul-Firdaus, InshaโAllah. We ask Allah to accept his lifetime of service to his family and his community as ongoing sadaqah jariyah and a means of elevation for him in the hereafter.
May Allah swt grant patience and strength to his family during this difficult time, and reunite his entire family with him in Jannat-ul-Firdaus
