Today we celebrate the feast of Pope St. Pius V, a shepherd of the Church known for his deep faith, humility, and commitment to renewal.

This feast is especially meaningful for our parish, as he established the feast of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary in thanksgiving after the Christian victory at the Battle of Lepanto in the year 1571—a triumph attributed to the power of the Rosary and the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

Through his leadership and trust in God, he guided the Church during challenging times with courage and clarity, encouraging devotion to the Holy Rosary and unity in prayer.

May his example inspire us to live with conviction, to remain faithful in prayer, and to always seek holiness in our daily lives.

St. Pius V, pray for us. ✝️

Christ of Medinaceli—also known as Christ the Redeemer or “The Nazarene”—is a beautiful 6-foot statue with a powerful history. In 1681, it was taken captive by the Muslims. A priest from the Order of the Most Holy Trinity approached the sultan, who demanded the statue’s weight in gold coins for its release. Miraculously, the statue’s weight was reduced to just 30 pounds and was redeemed with 30 gold coins.

We are blessed that Corpus Christi Catholic Church (Miami) has graciously lent us a replica of this sacred image. Join us this Good Friday, April 3, as we carry it in solemn procession through our streets. The procession will begin immediately after the Liturgy of the Word and Adoration of the Cross that starts at 7:00 PM
