Pastors do so much beyond what we see on Sunday mornings— they visit the sick and dying, provide counseling, and are leaders for church or school staff, for example. Take a moment to give thanks for your pastor and pray for his ministry.

November calendars are in boxes with the snow removal schedule on the back. Ladies Aid will meet Nov. 6 at 1:30. Workers will go to Orphan Grain Train on Nov. 24. We will hold a joint Thanksgiving Eve service at Christ, St. Paul on Nov. 26 at 7pm. Children's Christmas Program practice will begin Nov. 30th from 9:15-10. Please let Courtney know if your child will be participating.

A prayer for All Saints' Day: Dear Savior, Jesus, on this day I thank You for all the members of the church triumphant who have influenced me in my life of faith. I am grateful for how they have nurtured me in Your Word, and for the examples they have given me. Keep me faithful to You until You call me to join them and all the company of heaven around Your glorious throne and use me to Your glory in my remaining days on earth. In Your name I pray. Amen.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, October 24, 2025, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Palmer. Interment will be at the Rose Hill Cemetery in Palmer. Visitation will be held Thursday, 4:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M at Greenway-Dietz Funeral Home in Palmer. Memorials are suggested to St. John’s Lutheran Church in Palmer.

A prayer for Reformation Day: Dear Father, on this day I think of how You used Martin Luther to reform the false teachings in the church. Luther's teachings and writings are a blessing in my life that I thank You, Lord, for providing. You have also blessed me in worship through hymns Luther wrote to thank and praise You. Please use me in ways that You used Martin Luther to spread the Good News of Your Son, in whose name I pray. Amen.

A prayer for the Holy Ministry: Father in heaven, You have called men to serve the church as pastors. Thank You for bringing these men into the Holy Ministry. Be with those serving in congregations currently. Be with seminary students studying to become pastors. Be with those who are contemplating entering the ministry. May the Holy Spirit guide and direct these men in their daily duties. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.

October is Church Worker Appreciation month. We are thankful for Pastor Doolittle! St. John's will host an LWML Zone Rally on October 11th from 8:30-12:00 followed by a luncheon. Our quarterly Voter's meeting will be October 19th at 6pm. Workers will help at Orphan Grain Train on the 27th.

A prayer for church workers: Heavenly Father, the church in Your precious Bride. In a world that seems to progressively move past the study of Your Word and the singing of Your praise, raise up many faithful workers to serve and lead Your people. Awaken teachers, pastors, deaconesses, volunteers, and others for the critical care of Your flock. Through these individuals, bring the harvest of Your Son's ministry into the heavenly storehouses. In His name. Amen.
